Keen to get your 2026 Income Tax Return finalised?
Already spent your refund?
WAIT! Don’t rush to lodge, here’s why:
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) issues strong warnings against rushing to lodge, as premature lodgments are twice as likely to result in missing income data, processing delays, and audits.
By late July, your income statement will be marked as ‘tax ready’, and your data will have been pre-filled. When this happens, we're 'good to go' and can lodge with minimal risk of errors.
Last year, taxpayers who lodged BEFORE pre-fill finalised were more than twice as likely to have their returns amended (sometimes resulting in an increased amount of tax payable).
Give us time to receive info from your employer, banks, government agencies and health funds. We’ll then enter this data into your tax return to help you get it right the first time.
Key Pre-Fill Finalisation Dates:
1 July 2026 - Tax returns open, but only minimal data is available.
14 July 2026 - Regular employers must finalise Single Touch Payroll (STP) data.
Late July 2026 - Banks, health funds, and government agencies typically finalise pre-fills.
Reminder: we will be emailing out a copy of our 2026 tax checklist in the coming weeks, so please be sure to complete and return a copy for record keeping and compliance so we can commence work on your return.
