Well the BS is going around about tax return lodgement deadlines as usual each year. I have had a number of clients calling about whether their tax returns were due by 31st October.

Be assured that if you are linked to my Tax Agent Number you most likely have until May 2026 to lodge your return. In some circumstances (having been late last tax year) you may not have the extended deadline that we get in general.

However, if you are worried about the exact date feel free to call my office on 02 4284 6503 and we can verify the due date for your own peace of mind.

It is annoying and misleading of these people to scare everyone whenn they know full well about the later lodgement dates. These people work on volume and try to get as many people in as possible so they can then close their doors until July next year.

However, you will soon hear them bragging about having been given extra time for their clients to lodge their returns which again is misleading as all tax agents automatically have later due dates too. So these false advertisers aren't getting special treatment from the ATO so don't be fooled by them.

Hi everyone.

Well tax season has arrived and it seems that our recent email campaign has had a great response. The phones have been running hot and the appointments are mounting up quickly.

We suggest that if you want to get your tax return done as soon as possible that you give the office a call or email us on either [email protected] or [email protected] to beat the rush.

This year we will be doing appointments on Saturdays form 9am up to 12pm to give people another option if they can't get in on a week-day. Both myself and my senior accountant, Mark Shanahan, will be available for appointments either in-person, by phone, or even a Zoom or Teams call. Mark & I both have over 40 years experience in tax & accounting and can assist you with your tax and/or accounting needs, including tax planning & strategic advice.

I am also a qualified financial planner and can help you with your other financial affairs also.

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since I last posted so I guess it shows how busy we have been.

Apart from continual deadlines since the new year began, we have had a couple of staff departures due to ill-health and the "tyranny of distance". However, they have been replaced by new staff with many years of experience and one of them, Mark, is a former work colleague who has extensive knowledge and experience.

Overall, I believe that I now have a stronger and more qualified team to look after all my clients' taxation, accounting and financial planning requirements.

I have also subscribed to some new software which will allow us to prepare some useful tax reduction strategies and assist us to improve our advisory services whether it is for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies or SMSFs. In fact, reviewing the best tax structure for yourself or your business can make a huge difference to your financial position.

Consequently, since we are now in June and tax-time is coming around very quickly, I would suggest that if you have any questions about the coming 2025 tax year or are interested in coming in to discuss some ideas to improve your tax position please feel free to call my office on (02) 4284 6503.

If a face-to-face appointment is inconvenient for you, please email any questions in to us and we will reply ASAP.

We are also happy to have Zoom or Teams meetings if that is something you would prefer to utilise. We have the technology to handle your preference so don't let the fact that you may live out of town or work long hours prevent you from utilising PSATS's knowledge, experience and services.
