The P&C audit period is 1 Jan to 31 Dec, so prepare all financial documents ready to submit to your Auditor as soon as the December bank statement is issued in early January.

P&Cs should treat this matter as urgent to give your auditor time to complete the full audit, and ask any questions they may have prior to the AGM.

As the year wraps up, it’s a good time for P&Cs to complete their end-of-year stocktake.

With school holidays increasing the risk of power outages, theft or natural disasters, having accurate and accessible stock records is essential — especially for insurance claims and your upcoming audit.

Make sure everything is counted, recorded and up to date. For more guidance on inventory management, see section 9.3 of the Accounting Manual or contact QAS for end-of-year guidance.
