Our Senior Manager Lisa Peachey recently walked local business owners through the CGT reforms at the Devonport Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. Business and Brew.

This rebuild of CGT touches almost anyone who owns a business, an investment property, or shares outside super.

Read Lisa's breakdown down here: https://loom.ly/1M4-22Q - what's changing, what's staying the same, and what to do now.

Congratulation to Pettina Borlini on reaching the 10 year mark with Synectic!

Starting with us in accounting all those years ago, Pettina switched to wealth and has been an incredibly dedicated, fantastic, hard-working employee who's added very significant value to the business . Back then, what started as a tongue in cheek comment at a board meeting, sparked her interest in getting back into the finance industry and she says that the 10 years since have flown by for her.

Thanks for your outstanding leadership and committment Pettina. We look forward to many more years together.

Build a career at the exciting intersection of risk, governance and climate accountability.

We're looking for a graduate or undergraduate to join our Advisory & Assurance team in Devonport or Launceston. Full-time or part-time, we're flexible for the right person.

You don't need to have this all figured out yet. What you do need:
✓ Progress toward (or completion of) a degree in business, commerce, accounting or sustainability
✓ Genuine curiosity about risk, governance and the shift to climate disclosure
✓ Strong communication skills and an analytical mindset
✓ A willingness to learn fast and adapt (because the rules will)

You'll work directly with Boards, executive teams, and some of Tasmania's most significant organisations.

This is a career shaping how organisations respond to climate and governance change, not just processing it.

Mandatory climate reporting isn't a future problem anymore. The first reports have already been lodged.

If you're a Group 3 entity with a June year-end, the financial year that just started is your last full year before AASB S2 reporting becomes mandatory.

That sounds like plenty of time but early evidence is telling us otherwise. The businesses that have struggled most in the first wave of reporting aren't the ones with the biggest climate risks; they're the ones that started building emissions data and governance during their first reporting period, instead of before it.

In this article Alyssa Mahar looks at what the early sustainablity reports are already telling us, and what Group 3 entities should be doing this year to make use of the lead time they have.

This week Bianca Redpath hit 10 years with Synectic 🎉 But she's been here before, making it nearly 20 years all up!

Bianca first joined us as a trainee back when we were Atkinson Gibson, and stayed for close to a decade. Fast forward a few years and, much to our delight, she returned to help out in finance. As our SMSF, Wealth and Business Services teams grew she supported them too. These days Bianca is our Finance Assistant - and she still can't help but lend a hand wherever she's needed.

Alongside her work with us, Bianca has been raising a family and helping run the family farm, which explains where her practical, get-it-done nature comes from! She's warm, quick to laugh, and always makes time to connect with our clients, visitors and team. She is a much loved and well known personality here.

Bianca is our jack of all trades (and master of most!) and is always happy to take on whatever comes her way. Bianca, thank you for everything you do. We're lucky to have you!

We're looking for our next Client Services Administrator to join the Synectic team in Launceston!

If you love being organised and enjoy being the go-to person, this might be for you. You'll be the friendly face who keeps our clients and advisers supported and the office humming. No two days are the same.

Bonus if you're curious about AI and tech (we're a pretty progressive bunch when it comes to that). But attitude matters more to us than a perfect CV.

Full-time or part-time, whatever suits you best. We'll also consider a Devonport-based role for the right person.

We're on the hunt for our next Accountant to join the Synectic team, based in Devonport, Launceston or Hobart.
You don't need a formal qualification, just solid, practical accounting knowledge from a couple of years in an accounting role, and the drive to take on more. More variety, real client relationships, and a clear career pathway.
You'll get personal mentoring from day one, support to work towards Uni/CA/CPA if that's your goal, and the chance to work with some fantastic clients across Tasmania. All within a team that works hard and genuinely enjoys what they do.
