Six finalist nominations at the 2026 ifa Excellence Awards. What a result for the Link Wealth team!

A big congratulations to Josh Lee, Brayden Duckworth and Daniel McCarthy on their individual nominations. Very well deserved!
I also want to give the whole team a proper shout-out.

We have some seriously good people across advice, client services, operations and marketing. People who genuinely care about our clients and take pride in their work.

We've come a long way as a business, and a huge part of that comes down to the quality of people we've brought together. It's been great watching the team grow and continue to raise the standard.

A big thank you to everyone across the business. You've all played a part in getting us here, and I'm excited about where we're heading next.

Everyone talks about cutting expenses, but sometimes saving a few dollars here and there won’t make a huge difference.

A better approach? Find extra cash. Go through your home and sell things you no longer use.

I recently did this myself and made thousands by clearing out items sitting around the house.

Platforms like Marketplace make it easy to turn unused stuff into money.

Sometimes the easiest financial win is sitting right in front of you.

Many people set up their finances and then forget about them. That can become a problem over time.

First, your risk profile. Don’t become too conservative without understanding whether it still aligns with your goals and timeframe.

Second, the set and forget approach. Tax rules, contributions, and markets change, so your strategy needs regular reviews.

Third, insurance inside super. Premiums can increase significantly over time, so it’s important to review your cover and make sure it still suits your needs.

More money is going into super than ever before, with compulsory contributions now at 12% of your wage.

For someone earning $100,000, that’s $12,000 a year going into super. Over time, those contributions can compound into a significant amount of wealth.

The key is knowing where your super is invested, what fees you’re paying, and whether your investment strategy matches your goals.

Is now a good time to buy foreign currency?

If you’re planning an overseas trip, it could be worth keeping an eye on exchange rates.

The Australian dollar has strengthened against currencies like the US dollar and New Zealand dollar, which means your money may go further when travelling.

Of course, exchange rates can move in either direction and no one can predict the future. But if you already know you have a trip planned, it may be worth looking at your options.

Property isn’t dead, but the market is going through a challenging period. Auction clearance rates have fallen across many major cities, showing buyers and sellers are becoming more cautious.

Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, and Brisbane have all seen clearance rates decline compared to this time last year, with Brisbane seeing one of the biggest drops.

The key reminder is that all investments move in cycles. Markets change, governments change policies, and conditions shift. The focus should always be on the long term, buying the right property at the right price, and having a clear strategy.

One of the things that stayed with me after my recent trip to Manila was the story behind the jeepneys.

The modern jeepney traces its roots back to surplus American military jeeps after World War II.

Filipinos adapted them for public transport by adding roofs, extending the bodies and creating more space for passengers.

Over time, they became something completely their own.

Colourful, useful and full of personality, every jeepney seems to tell a different story.

To me, they represent something I noticed throughout my time in the Philippines.

There is a real ability to work with what is available, improve it and take pride in the result.

More than anything, though, it was the people who made the biggest impression.

The warmth, kindness and generosity I experienced were genuine.

People made time for conversations, shared their stories and went out of their way to make me feel welcome.

I see those same qualities in our Levera team every day. They are hardworking, thoughtful and proud of what they do, but they also genuinely care about the people around them.

Now that we have 100+ people on board, the question may no longer be whether we need a Levera jeepney.

It might be what colour it should be.

Hypothetically, of course.

I’m incredibly proud of the team we are building and grateful for the people who made my time in Manila so memorable.
