We want to take a moment to acknowledge everyone who submitted a nomination but wasn't shortlisted this year, as well as those who quietly put their heads down every day to deliver exceptional service.

While industry awards are a wonderful milestone, they are just one small measure of success. They do not define the immense value you bring to your clients, your businesses, and your communities.
The quiet, consistent dedication you show doesn't always come with a trophy, but it is the absolute backbone of what makes the Success Tax Professionals franchise so strong. It often takes a few years of submissions to be recognised, so please do not be discouraged from submitting again next year!

The recognition our group received today reflects the high standards and excellence we all uphold together. We see your hard work, and it is deeply appreciated.

🌟 It was wonderful to see so many of our franchise practices at our AML/CTF Program training in Perth this week! 😁

​Held at Quest East Perth on May 1st, this workshop was all about ensuring our network is fully prepared for the upcoming July 1, 2026 implementation. Staying on top of industry changes and prioritizing professional development is such a crucial part of our franchise culture. 📚💼

​A special shoutout to Thomas Jacob, who traveled all the way from Queensland to join us, we always love seeing our East Coast franchisees make the trek over to WA! ✈️ (Reminder: We'll be delivering the exact same workshop in Sydney on May 16th, and we look forward to seeing our East Coast network there!)

​On a personal note, a massive thank you to all the franchisees who came up to say hello and chat on the day. Due to other commitments, it’s been a while since I’ve seen some of you, and I was quite overwhelmed by the warm reception.

From 1 July 2026, the ATO is introducing a $1,000 standard work-related deduction.

If your deductions are $1,000 or less, you’ll be able to claim it without receipts. If your deductions are more than $1,000, nothing changes. You still need records. You still need advice. This isn’t a threat to accountants. It’s a line in the sand.

Basic deductions were already low value work. This change just makes that obvious.

What it does do is force a choice for accounting practices:

Compete on simple, standardised claims, or
Focus on advice that actually makes a difference

The firms that struggle will be the ones built around checking receipts and ticking boxes. The firms that grow will use the $1,000 standard deduction as a starting point.
