Budget limbo. That's where a lot of you are right now.

Since the federal budget, the questions have been flying in.

Whether this changes the plan.

Whether to sell.

Whether to still buy that investment property.

Here's the honest answer: right now, you're in limbo.

The 2026 Budget tax reforms are still proposals, not law.

And the Government has already walked back two of them.

Small businesses got a bigger capital gains tax break, and the trust "death tax" everyone panicked about got scrapped for testamentary trusts.

So while the dust settles, keep emotion out of the driver's seat. Be prepared but don’t make any panic decisions.

And, keep things in perspective

Yes, some people will be a bit worse off as a result of the proposed tax reforms, and we’re not pretending otherwise.

But a bit worse off still beats no progress at all. We’d rather you make money and send a touch extra to the ATO than make nothing and send them nothing.

The A-Team has a very cute new recruit. Marcus and his wife Nat welcomed their first daughter, Millie, back in April.

She's started smiling, she's stretched her sleep out to a solid four hours a night (so Marcus is yawning a little less at his desk), and the passport is already underway so she can start seeing the world with Mum and Dad.

Welcome to the team, Millie. Something tells us you'll fit right in. ❤️

Trav and Em had built a cracking business, but behind the scenes their finances were "a mess."

Cash sitting idle in the business account getting eaten by inflation. Super ignored. Insurances gathering dust. Plenty of income, no plan tying it together.

The scary part was where that cash was parked. In a trading business, one bad job or one claim and it's all fair game.

Over 18 months we sorted their number, cut their tax by a six-figure amount, got the idle cash working across the right structures, and locked down their insurances.

Trav took more action in 18 months than he had in the previous ten years.

Budget's out. Rates are up. And the headlines are doing a stellar job of making everyone feel like the sky is falling.

So we got Diana Mousina, Deputy Chief Economist at AMP, back in the Q&A hotseat. She's our first-ever repeat guest, and for good reason.

She has a real knack for taking the yawn factor out of economics and sorting the facts from the fear.

Here's what we get into:
ㆍ The real state of the Aussie economy (calmer than the headlines suggest)
ㆍ Why inflation is creeping back up
ㆍ The federal budget in plain English: capital gains and negative gearing
ㆍ Where interest rates are headed
ㆍ How to handle a twitchy market without making a move you'll regret
