πŸ‰ State of Origin Decider Day means one thing in our office... donut day! 🍩

It's become a bit of an annual tradition for us to stop by Goulburn Donut Shop and pick up our State of Origin donuts to take home for our families before the big game.

One of us has a Queensland supporter in the family, and the team at the donut shop are always happy to join in on our friendly rivalry by accidentally adding a touch of NSW blue to the Maroons donut. πŸ’™πŸ˜‚

This year they even went the extra mile, adding a splash of blue to the bottom half of the Maroons shield. Safe to say, we noticed... and we absolutely appreciated the attention to detail! πŸ˜„

A big thank you to Goulburn Donut Shop for embracing the rivalry and having a laugh with us each year.

Who are you cheering for tonight? πŸ’™β€οΈ

Go the Blues! πŸ’™πŸ‰

If you have employees, don't forget that Single Touch Payroll (STP) finalisation is generally due by 14 July.

Before you finalise, make sure you review:

βœ“ Employee wages and salaries
βœ“ PAYG withholding amounts
βœ“ Allowances and deductions
βœ“ Superannuation reporting data

Accurate STP reporting helps ensure your employees have the correct information available when it's time to lodge their tax returns.

Don't leave your STP finalisation until the last minute. A quick review now can help avoid errors and save time later.

Have a question about STP finalisation? Pop it in the comments or send us a message.

One of the biggest payroll changes in years is here.

For many businesses, this means reviewing how payroll and cash flow are managed.

βœ” Super is now processed alongside each pay run.

βœ” Quarterly super payments are no longer the standard approach.

βœ” Businesses may need to review their payroll processes and cash flow management.

βœ” Payroll software and automation are more important than ever.

Have you updated your payroll process for Payday Super yet?

If you're unsure what these changes mean for your business, we're here to help.

Today is the final day for businesses to complete any EOFY purchases or make any financial decisions they want included in the 2025–26 financial year.

If you've been planning to purchase business equipment or finalise anything before 30 June, now's the time to make sure it's done.

As always, if you're unsure how a purchase or financial decision may affect your business, it's worth speaking with your accountant or financial adviser before making any last-minute decisions.

Buying equipment before EOFY?

Make sure you understand the rules.

Purchasing equipment before EOFY may provide tax benefits, but it's important to remember that every business is different. Eligibility depends on the current rules, and the asset generally needs to be installed and ready for use before 30 June.

Before making any major EOFY purchases, consider your cash flow, your business needs, and speak with your accountant to ensure it's the right decision for your circumstances.

Whether you're preparing for EOFY or planning ahead for the new financial year, we're here to help.

Send us a message to see how we can support your business.

AI can accelerate bookkeeping, but speed doesn't always equal accuracy or clarity.

There are still important limitations that business owners should understand.

Accurate books rely on context, judgement and oversight β€” things AI can't provide on its own.

That's why the best results come from combining smart technology with real bookkeeping expertise.
