One of the most common things I hear from clients is:

”But it’s obviously fuel!”

And trust me, I get it 😂

The reality is that bookkeeping isn’t just about knowing something was a business expense - it’s about having the documentation to support it.

For purchases over $82.50 (including GST), valid tax invoices are generally required to support GST claims.

When I ask for receipts, it’s not because I don’t trust you. It’s because my job is to help protect your business, keep your records compliant, and make sure you’re prepared if the ATO ever asks questions.
