A simple habit like separating your tax money early can save you a lot of stress down the line.

Having an ABN doesn’t automatically mean you need to be registered for GST.

The $75,000 turnover threshold is what counts. Register too early or too late, and it can cause unnecessary stress.

ABN and business name are not the same thing and registering one doesn’t automatically register the other.

If you’re starting a business, it’s important to understand the difference from the beginning.

If you’re a subcontractor and your ABN isn’t on your invoice, the business paying you may be legally required to withhold tax at the top marginal rate.

That’s a huge hit to your cash flow and completely avoidable.

Something as small as leaving off your ABN can cause major issues.

If you’re unsure whether your invoices are compliant, it’s better to check now than fix it later.
