Earlier this week, Eric & Sally attended a lovely roundtable discussion organised by Qamba.

The session covered AI readiness and adoption, leadership, and the security foundations required to scale.

It was great to discuss these topics in a smaller group setting and hear different perspectives from fellow business owners.

Over the weekend, the ladies from the Lark Business Advisory team got together for a fundraiser for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea in support of the Cancer Council Australia. ☕💛

It was a lovely day bidding on hampers and raising money for a great cause, with donations exceeding the original fundraising goal.

A big thank you to Cait McCloud and Jane for organising such a beautiful event - and lovely to see the Lark ladies involved too!

💰 One thing we always remind our clients around this time of year (especially business owners) is to make sure you top up your super before 30 June.

For the 2025/26 financial year, the concessional contribution cap is $30,000. From 1st July 2026, this will increase to $32,500.

Not only can this provide a tax deduction, but it’s also a great way to continue building your retirement savings over time.

💰 Last night’s Federal Budget announced major proposed changes to capital gains tax, negative gearing, and the taxation of trusts.

The proposed changes to capital gains tax and negative gearing will significantly impact investors and property owners, while the proposed changes to the taxation of trusts will have a major impact on business owners and investors currently utilising trust structures.

As the proposed trust taxation changes are expected to come into effect from 1 July 2028, there is still time to review your current structure and plan ahead.

A wonderful opportunity to be at Carlton IN Business' first lunch in Queensland this week, in Brisbane at the Rivershed - Howard Smith Wharves.

Enjoyed hearing from Chris Davies and Josh Fraser from Carlton Football Club, Sarah Cook OLY from Rowing Australia, John Collins AM, Night Life Economy Commissioner at the Queensland Government, and John Gillam from Lendlease. Some interesting perspectives from both the sporting and business worlds!

It’s always interesting to attend these events in different states, as they open up new conversations and opportunities!

Great to also be joined at this event by our wonderful client, Michael O'Connell, CEO of Hairhouse Australia.
