Your payslip is only one piece of the tax return puzzle.

When preparing your return, it’s important to consider the bigger picture.

That could include:
• Interest from bank accounts
• Dividends and investment distributions
• Rental income
• Capital gains from investments or property
• Other income relevant to your circumstances

The key is simple: don’t look at your salary in isolation.

Before lodging, make sure you’ve considered all relevant income and have the records needed to support your return.

A little preparation can help you avoid missing information and needing to revisit your return later.

Save this as your tax-time reminder.

Most business owners don’t need more hours in the day.

They need a better way to spend the hours they already have.

A simple 15-minute Monday check-in can help you:
✅ Identify issues earlier
✅ Understand what’s changing
✅ Make decisions with confidence

Small habits create stronger businesses.

Save this and make it part of your weekly routine.

Not all struggles are visible. 💛

Sometimes, the signs are subtle. A colleague becomes quieter. A friend stops reaching out. Someone who normally seems themselves just… doesn’t.

You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong to reach out. If something feels different, trust your instinct and ask:

“R U OK?”

You don’t need all the answers. Sometimes, simply knowing that someone noticed and cared can make a meaningful difference.

💛 Save this reminder and check in with someone this week.

Revenue is only one number.

And by itself, it can give you a very misleading picture of how your business is performing.

Before Q4, take a closer look at the numbers underneath the headline:

• Gross profit margin
• Net profit margin
• Cash conversion
• Debtor days
• Revenue per employee

Together, they give you a much clearer view of profitability, cash flow, productivity and the health of your business.

The goal isn't to track every number possible.

It's to track the right numbers consistently enough to make better decisions.

Save this post and use it for your next business review.

If one of these KPIs is moving in the wrong direction, Q4 is the time to understand why—not wait until the year is over.

September is the month many businesses overlook.

While some wait until October to think about Q4, proactive businesses are already reviewing performance, identifying gaps, and making adjustments.

The goal isn’t just to know where you are.

It’s to know where you’re heading.
A strong finish to the year starts with the decisions you make now.

Many families spend years building wealth—but very little time making sure it's properly protected.

The way your assets are structured can have a significant impact on:

✔ Asset protection
✔ Tax flexibility
✔ Succession planning
✔ Future generations

A structure that worked five or ten years ago may no longer suit your family's needs today.

That's why reviewing your family group regularly is just as important as reviewing your investments.

If you're unsure whether your current structure is still working for you, now is a great time to start the conversation.

📩 Send us a message to arrange a Family Structure Review.

One of the most common misconceptions we hear is:

"If it's tax deductible, it's basically free."

The reality is that a tax deduction reduces your taxable income—it doesn't reimburse the full amount you spend.

That means every business purchase should first make commercial sense. The tax deduction is a benefit, but it shouldn't be the reason you buy something.

Good tax planning is about making smart business decisions, not chasing deductions.

Do you think TPAR only applies to builders?

Think again.

Many Australian businesses are surprised to learn that the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) also applies to industries like cleaning, IT, security, courier services and road freight when they pay contractors.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that it relates to employees—it doesn't. TPAR is about reporting eligible payments made to contractors.

If you're unsure whether your business needs to lodge one, it's worth checking before the deadline rather than dealing with avoidable penalties later.

EQUAL PAY DAY IS ABOUT MORE THAN PAY.

Many women in business work incredibly hard to grow revenue, win clients and build successful businesses.

But here's the reality:
💡 A higher income doesn't automatically create long-term wealth.

Financial literacy plays a major role in:
✔ Understanding cash flow
✔ Planning for tax
✔ Building superannuation
✔ Growing business profits
✔ Making confident financial decisions

The conversation shouldn't stop at equal pay.

It should include equal access to financial knowledge and confidence.

What's the biggest financial lesson you've learned as a business owner?
