What is a Director Penalty Notice (DPN) and why does it matter?

Because, if you receive a DPN, you could be made personally liable for the total debt owed by the Company!

A DPN is a notice issued personally to Company Directors by the Australian Tax Office (ATO), to recover unpaid tax debts like GST, PAYG or Superannuation.
If you receive a DPN from the ATO, do not delay. You only have 21 days, and that can go quickly, so please seek advice straight away.

Shelley and the Team at Rodgers Reidy are here for Tasmanian Small Businesses and we want to see you thrive! For over 15 years, small businesses statewide have put their trust in Shelley to work alongside them and navigate a way forward. If you receive a DPN, please don’t delay, reach out for a free confidential discussion on 6146 3322.

Acting quickly is the best way to deal with a DPN. Here’s what you need to know:

We Can Make a Difference

The Team here at Rodgers Reidy Tas are very proud to be taking part in Red Set Go 2026 to fundraise during the month of August for Red Nose Day.

We have committed to walking 3km per day in remembrance of the 3,000 babies and young children who die unexpectantly each year in Australia 💔

Our team is called the Rodgers Reidy Red Rovers. We were going to go with the name ‘Racers’ but we’re clearly not runners! However, we can walk a mean mile and throughout the month of August, we will keep you updated with our fundraising efforts and our walks, roves, hikes and strolls all around Hobart and beyond 🚶‍♀️ 🚶 ⛰️

If you would like to help us on our journey and contribute to this wonderful cause, please consider donating via the link below:

https://www.rednoseday.org.au/fundraisers/RodgersReidyRedRovers

As a sign of commitment, each member of the team has made their own donation, and with the help of a few other kind souls, we are currently sitting on $1,248!

Each one of us has our own reasons for taking on this challenge and it is our collective hope that just by taking part we will raise awareness of Red Nose Day and contribute to research that saves Australian families from the heartache of loss 🕊️

The Rodgers Reidy Mid-Year Dinner never disappoints and 2026 was no different!
.. because who wouldn’t want to spend a chilly Tasmanian winter evening in an igloo? ❄️

This stunning concept was provided by the talented folks at Teeny Tiny Teepees. There was a heater of course, and plenty of good food and great conversation 🍾🥂🍹

I’m not sure what was the highlight… the beachfront igloo, or the Tesla light show after (thanks Matt!)🏎️

It was a great way to cap off a successful six months with our hard-working team that really does punch well above their weight! 👊

We’re Braving It!

On the shortest day of the year, we’re rocking the shorts for a very good cause, Speak Up! Stay ChatTY 🩳

Hobart really knows how to brave the cold and it's great to see so many people with their shorts on (and pegs out!) Even our graduate, Nabin, was keen to take part and celebrate his first winter in Tasmania. Nabin hails from a much warmer part of the world, so if he can do it, we can too! 😎

The team at Rodgers Reidy are proud to support Shorts Day, so let's keep talking about mental health so those difficult conversations can one day be just that little bit easier 💙

Here at Rodgers Reidy from 8th to 22nd June, we are embracing the darkness and painting the town red!

Well not quite, but we are participating in the official Paint the Town Red and we’re proud to be on the map alongside 200 other businesses across Southern Tasmania!

In our opinion, Hobart is the most alluring city in Australia and Dark M**o showcases her dusky side like no other.

So, get your dark on and come see us at 60 Argyle Street and what else Hobart has to offer, after hours…

It’s Been a Year!

Our amazing Analyst, Rojina, has been with us for just over twelve months now.

Powered by coffee (and maybe a few snacks!), Rojina takes on every challenge with energy and optimism.

We took the time to ask her a few questions about her journey with us so far, and this is what she had to say…

RR - "What do you enjoy most about working at Rodgers Reidy Tas?"
Rojina - I really enjoy working with our small team, homely environment, opportunity to grow and also the paintings and drawings that I get from Shelley and Matt’s daughter. 👧

(Did I mention midday snacks? 😅)

RR - "If you had one piece of advice to give to business owners, what would it be?"
Rojina - Keep the financial health of your business in check. You should chat with your accountant or financial advisors if you are not too sure about this. 📈

RR - "What is your claim to fame?"
Rojina - Occasional bus surfing in Nepal. (It’s definitely a thing!) 🚌

RR - "What led you to a career in corporate restructuring?"
Rojina - I think it was my parents microdosing me into the corporate world. I hope this makes me their favourite child! 🤦‍♀️

RR - "Who, or what is your inspiration?"
Rojina - Fran, our Office Manager is my inspiration at the moment. She is an all-rounder and has vast knowledge in many areas. Her relentless drive in starting new and interesting projects is something that I want to build on and improve. 🦸‍♀️

Thank you Rojina. You are a super smart cookie, and we love having you here at RRTas! 👍😊
