Team Kill Cancer Inc works tirelessly to provide those impacted by cancer with relief. This can be through anything from fuel vouchers for those travelling to appointments, to trips overseas to visit family members who have been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Statistics show that ‘1 in 3 Victorians are diagnosed with cancer by the age of 75’ and ‘1 in every 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime’. This disease impacts all of us. Because of this, on May 22nd we are hosting our second annual O'Brien's Morning Tea for Life in support of Team Kill Cancer Inc. O'Brien Accountants & Advisors are proud to recognise well-earned promotions across our firm! 📣 🎉

Two of our Intermediate Accountants Jamie and Sara have been promoted to Senior Accountants. Sara and Jamie have proven their skills and leadership capabilities, championing new initiatives in the firm and continuing to maintain a high quality of client work. Jamie and Sara began their careers at O'Brien as Graduate Accountants and we are honoured to have the pleasure of fostering their careers in accounting. We would also like to congratulate Bradley who has shown great initiative in our accounting team and has been our internal finance lead. This has positioned him in his new role as Team Leader in our Tax and Accounting sector. Brad is our go-to for a broad range of topics which will be a great asset to his team.

From our Client Services team, Ashleigh and Stella have stepped in to roles in our Operations team. Ashleigh has moved in to the Operations Co-Ordinator role, after successfully implementing and improving multiple procedures firmwide since her start at the firm two years ago. Stella will be advancing her marketing career in the new role of Marketing and Client Experience Specialist. She has two years of marketing experience and a proven track record of successfully delivering events, supporting her transition into a more senior role.

Last week, our team members stepped out of the meeting rooms and in to the CareNet Ltd Giving Day! 🎁🧸

For the past three years, we’ve proudly partnered with CareNet to support their Reverse Advent Calendar initiative. We provided more than 10 full boxes of non-perishable items, which will go toward helping families facing food insecurity this Christmas.

The past two years, our team also joined the Giving Day, helping to provide gifts for children in need. This year, CareNet provided around 200 donated gifts and our team assisted families in choosing age appropriate presents and wrapping them (even a fully inflated basketball!).

At O'Brien's, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. That's why we're excited to announce a special Fundraiser Morning Tea in support of TKC - Team Kill Cancer.

TKC is an amazing charity that helps local community members by assisting and supporting those suffering from or affected by cancer.

A bit about TKC: In 2013, Nathan Williams found out that his mother Rose was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 oesophagus cancer. He and his wife Cathy, along with their close friends Mark & Ky O’Shea, decided to create something meaningful to help people and their families touched by cancer. And just like that, Team Kill Cancer was born.

With this fundraiser event, we aim to support TKC in their noble cause and raise funds to help them continue their incredible work. Stay tuned for more details!

Last night, the Rotary Club of Ivanhoe proudly hosted an Estate Planning Strategies and Family Office Offerings seminar at O'Brien Accountants & Advisors.

Our very own Director of Financial Planning (and proud Rotary member) Nellie Fung, Director of Accounting and Business Advisory Alice Rush, and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Tracee Pang delivered insightful presentations to the Rotarians, focusing on setting up their estates for financial success for themselves and future generations.

We were also honoured to have Wills and Succession Lawyers Principal Lawyer Andrea Thomas, who shared her expertise on utilising trusts and estate planning to protect assets, along with some real client case studies.

The event was a resounding success, with our speakers engaging in a lively question and answer session and networking with intermediate accountants from our practice, Jamie Whipps and Bradley Tremellen.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Count Charitable Foundation for their generous donation to RIMERN (Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network) . Your contribution is making a significant impact in our community.
