🚨 AML Changes Are Coming – Effective 1 July 🚨

From 1 July, new Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements will apply to accounting and bookkeeping professionals.

The good news? There is nothing our clients need to register for.

What you will notice is that, for certain services, we may ask you to:
✅ Provide written instructions before we act on your behalf.
✅ Complete or sign additional authorities for specific tasks.

These extra steps are part of the new compliance requirements and are designed to protect both you and your business.

If we need anything from you, we’ll let you know exactly what is required and make the process as simple as possible.

💰 Reminder: National Wage Increase starts soon!

From the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2026, the Fair Work Commission’s 4.75% increase to the National Minimum Wage and modern award pay rates takes effect.

Important: This doesn’t necessarily mean 1 July for every business. The increase applies from the first full pay period that starts on or after 1 July.

For example:
✅ Weekly pay period starting Wednesday 1 July – new rates apply from 1 July.
✅ Fortnightly pay period that started Monday 29 June – old rates continue until the next full pay period begins.

📋 Even if you pay above the Award, now is the perfect time to review your employees’ pay rates and ensure you’re meeting the new minimum requirements.

Don’t forget another major change:
💼 Payday Super also begins from 1 July 2026, meaning superannuation must now be paid at the same time as employees are paid.

🚁 Not your everyday client!

One of our amazing clients, County Helicopters, recently had the unique job of transporting a helicopter to Kangaroo Island… via the KI ferry! 🚢

It’s not every day you see a helicopter parked between trucks on a ferry deck, but when there’s a job to be done, they’ll find a way to get there.
