If you want to lower your tax bill and stay on the ATO's good side, here is the updated Howell & Co Accounting priority list:

✅ The $20k Sprint: The Instant Asset Write-off threshold is currently $20,000. If you need new equipment, tech, or tools, ensure they are delivered and ready for use by June 30 to claim the full deduction this year.

✅ Super Clearing: Don’t wait until the 30th. For super to be deductible this financial year, the funds must reach the employee's account by June 30. We recommend processing your final 12% SG payments by June 16 to be safe.

✅ The "Payday Super" Pivot: 1 July 2026 marks the start of Payday Super (paying super at the same time as wages). Use this June to audit your cash flow—moving from quarterly to ""real-time"" super is a big shift.

✅ Bad Debt Cleanup: Run your aged receivables report today. If a debt is genuinely unrecoverable, write it off in Xero/MYOB before June 30 to claim the deduction.
