π³ Do you pay your tax by credit card? The ATO's credit card ban has been DELAYED.
π
The ATO had planned to stop taking credit cards after 30 November 2026. After the Government stepped in, cards are now accepted until 30 June 2027.
What to do now:
β
Set up BPAY or a bank transfer as a backup (no ATO fee)
β
Only use a card if you can clear it in full: card interest is usually higher than the ATO's interest charge
β
Can't pay in full? Lodge on time and set up a payment plan
β
Take card payments? Since 1 October, no surcharges on eftpos, Mastercard or Visa
Your Q1 BAS is due 28 October if you lodge yourself.
