Custm are one of my all time favourite clients I have ever worked with, they run one of the most exciting and robust businesses I have worked with in my public practice career.

💡 Negative gearing is NOT a wealth strategy — it’s a tax outcome.

Too many investors get caught up in the idea of buying a property just because it’s negatively geared and will give them a tax deduction.

But here’s the truth:

✅ A tax benefit should never be the primary reason you invest.

Negative gearing simply means you’re losing money each year and the tax deduction softens the blow — it doesn’t automatically make it a good investment.

Instead, the real question should always be:

🏡 Is this property going to build long-term wealth?

Look at things like:

📈 Capital growth potential
💰 Rental demand and future income
🏗️ Location and fundamentals
🧱 Asset quality

A short-term tax deduction won’t matter if the investment doesn’t perform over time.

Focus on wealth creation first — the tax benefits come second.

Whether you made $50 or $50,000 from selling shares, property, crypto, or any other asset — it’s still a capital gain and must be reported on your income tax return. 📄✅

The ATO doesn’t have a “too small to mention” rule. Even if your profit feels minor, reporting it correctly helps you avoid penalties and keeps your tax record squeaky clean. 🧼

Remember:
