People who are HIV+ can now be considered for all forms of Life insurance; that includes Life, TPD, Income Protection, and Trauma insurance. Yes, there is a slight increase in price, but the timeline below shows the shift over the years.

Going back 6 months ago, the most likely outcome was just Life insurance, and it was only possible with up to a 250% increase in pricing. TPD, Income Protection was difficult and at best just for accidents only (no medical coverage), while Trauma was not even considered.

Going back to when I started in this industry 10 years ago, the most likely outcome was again a heavily priced policy just for Life insurance only (no TPD, Income Protection or Trauma), and a term of up to 10 years - which means the client couldn't have the policy for more than 10 years.

This is huge news for anyone who is HIV+ and needs to protect their assets, lifestyle, family, children, or spouse.

Please contact me if you or anyone you know needs to review their insurances because they find themselves in this situation. Feel free to share this important information.

Are you a former or current Optus client?

Your details may have been exposed in the latest data breach.

What does that mean?

Your personal details may be on sold by crooks to try and get access to your banking details or get lines of credit (such as creating new credit cards etc) by using your information.

How can I protect myself?

1. Change your passwords.

2. If you aren’t in the market now looking for finance such as taking out a loan, mortgage or new credit card you put a block on credit enquires. Credit enquires through reporting agencies are used to verify and approve your credit score. Putting a block on enquires for 21 days offers you protection from fraudsters who may try to exploit your exposed data.

Are you one of the 600,000 Australians with a failed Superfund?

It's the second year for the MySuper performance test, Your Future, Your Super.

Did you know 5 funds failed the test and need to notify their members: Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund, EISS Super, AMG Super, Westpac Group Super and BT Super - a mix of industry and retail funds. This is down from 10 last year failing, but 4 failed twice and cannot accept new members.

With nearly $28 billion of funds in failed Super, it's a timely reminder to see if your money is working for you.

Let's have a chat and see how we can improve your Super.

Got Super? You should care about it - it’s what you will most likely use to fund your retirement.

If your boss set it up at your first job, did they really care about your retirement, or did they just set it up with any Super fund because they had to?

Let’s talk about taking control of your retirement, because it could mean a world of difference when you (eventually) retire.

Trauma insurance; Is it important? Do I need it? What does it do?

I’ve seen clients paid their trauma insurance for events like cancer, stroke and heart attacks - trust me the cover works.

It’s a lump sum, tax-free, payout for major medical events.

How many times have you had a gap in health insurance cover for minor conditions not paid, or Medicare not cover everything? Imagine if that happened for major health events.

Let’s have a chat about how to best protect you for major health events.
