Payday Super is coming.

From 1 July 2026, super must be paid at the same time as wages. Not quarterly.

While it’s a positive step for employees, it will change how businesses manage cash flow, payroll and compliance.

As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, we had the pleasure of hearing from Deputy Commissioner Wendy Steendam AM APM.

Wendy spoke about her career journey, the challenges she’s overcome, and her experience balancing leadership with family life and what it truly takes to lead at the highest level. Her story was both inspiring and relatable, with a strong message to keep challenging ourselves and embrace continuous learning.

A meaningful session and an important reminder of what’s possible. We’re grateful to Wendy for sharing her time and insights with our team and appreciated Inspector Julie joining us also.

From 1 July 2026, superannuation must be paid at the same time as wages.

This means super will no longer be paid quarterly. Instead, it will be due every pay cycle.

If you pay staff weekly or fortnightly, super will need to be paid just as often.

The June 2026 quarter super can still be paid by 28 July 2026 under the current rules.

However, from 1 July 2026 onwards, super must be paid every pay cycle.

That means July 2026 could include several super payments close together, including the final quarterly payment plus July pay day super payments.

If cash flow is tight, this could create pressure if you are not prepared.

📍Review your payroll system and make sure super can be processed with each pay run.
📍Plan your cash flow for more frequent super payments.
📍Review your payroll processes and cash flow plan now so you are not caught off guard in July.
📍Talk to your hmh Advisor if you are concerned about managing cash flow in your business.

After many years of dedicated service to our clients and community, we announce the retirement of Morris Nutbean.

Many of our clients will have had the privilege of working with Morris throughout his forty plus years in the accounting profession. Throughout his career Morris has been a trusted advisor, respected colleague, mentor and valued friend to many.

The relationships Morris has built over the years are a true reflection of the care and professionalism he brought to his work every day.

As he calls time on his career, we thank Morris for the lasting contribution he has made to our clients and team, and we wish him a fulfilling and well-earned retirement.

Congratulations to our 2025 Employee of the Year Annalise Lando.

Part of the Admin & Finance team for four years, Annalise flourished in her role last year. Demonstrating firm values of Care, Trust and Loyalty, Annalise's compassion for her colleagues and clients never skips a beat.

She stepped up to additional responsibilities, contributed to the team as a social committee member and continually acts as a team player.

Congratulations on this well-deserved acknowledgment Annalise.

In the presentation of awards at our Christmas Party, special mentions were also given to Louise Jackson, Financial Planning Administrator and James Reid, Business Services Manager.

Louise is a cornerstone of the financial planning team supporting advisers and managing the demands of FP administration whilst also training staff. Louise truly exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding team member.

As Manager of a young team, James has quickly gained their trust, he truly cares about the success of the business and is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for our clients and the company.

We are proud to have such dedicated people as part of our team.

This festive season our team took some time out to give a little back to the local community by taking part in the CareNet Reverse Advent Calendar food relief initiative.

CareNet works with food relief partners to increase food accessibility and address food insecurity in the community.

Unlike the traditional advent calendar where you receive something each day, the Reverse Advent Calendar calls for an item to be given each day.

Together we filled the Christmas hampers with essential pantry items which are now being distributed through local food relief programs, coordinated by CareNet, bringing joy to families who need it most.

Team breakfast for International Men's Day.

This year's theme, "Celebrating Men & Boys", aims to shine a light on the positive value men bring to the world, their families and community.

Guest speaker Nathan Murphy, ex Collingwood player, joined the team for breakfast and spoke about mateship, having conversations around mental, physical and emotional health & wellbeing and highlighting the positive role models in our community, not just the sports or movie stars, but the regular blokes setting a good example for our young boys.

We recently celebrated a significant and rare milestone...

40 years of service with Pat Moore.

On 23rd September 1985, Pat joined hmh Advisory and what a journey it has been!

Pat is a much-loved and respected figure not only within the business but amongst the many clients he has worked with and supported over the years.

Pat has also had a significant impact on those within the team. Educating and leading with care have always been part of Pat's contributions. He has had an incredible impact on the careers of some of our young grads guiding them to senior roles.

Pat has helped shape our culture to what it is today, and it is a privilege to have him as part of the hmh family.

Congrats, thank you and cheers to 40 years Pat, we are so lucky to have you.

Recently, our MD Kristian Lunardello, presented at the Bank of Queensland - BOQ Town Hall event in Melbourne.

Speaking to BOQ Group staff of 400+, Kristian was invited to provide a perspective as the "Voice of a Customer". He spoke about the importance of relationships, loyalty, trust and availability, noting how critical these traits have been for Hmh Advisory as long-term customers of Bank of Queensland, along with the longevity of the client relationship team.
