🎉 EOFY 2026 Celebrations! 🎉

The Ready1 team took some well-deserved time out to celebrate another fantastic financial year together.

We kicked things off with a relaxed lunch at Moon Dog World, before swapping spreadsheets for paintbrushes at Pinot & Picasso in Thornbury. It was a great opportunity to switch from left-brain thinking to right-brain creativity, with plenty of laughs along the way!

As another financial year has closed, we'd like to thank all of our clients for your continued trust and support. It’s a privilege to be part of your journey, and we genuinely appreciate the relationships we've built.

We look forward to what the 2027 financial year brings🥂

⏰️ Reminder that employee super for the September quarter (or the month of September if you pay monthly) **is due for payment by the 28th of October.**

For super to be deductible to your business, it needs to have cleared to the employee’s super fund by the due date ⬅️ Conservatively, this means that super should be paid by today to give it enough time to process through the super clearing houses 👨‍💻

If you do not pay an employee’s super guarantee on time and to the correct fund, you must lodge a Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC) statement and pay the additional charges & interest to the ATO — yikes 😱

🎉 EOFY 2025 Celebration – Work Hard, Play Hard! 🎉

On July 4th, we marked the end of another fantastic financial year with a celebration that had it all—great food, lots of laughs, and a little friendly competition.

🍽️ We kicked things off by unwinding over a four-course lunch at Old Palm Liquor in Brunswick East. With great food, flowing drinks, and warm company, it was the perfect setting to switch off, recharge, and appreciate everything we’ve accomplished together.

⛳ After lunch, the team unleashed their competitive streaks at What The Putt—a mini golf course packed with quirky holes. Between unexpected obstacles and alien encounters, we shared loads of laughs and celebrated some impressive putts. Congrats to our top scorers who claimed their spot on the winner’s podium! 🏆

Massive thanks to our amazing team for bringing the energy and making the day so memorable. Here's to another big year ahead!

🧾 The 24/25 Financial Year Has Ended – Time to think about lodging your Tax Return!

📅 Key Dates to Remember:

- 31 October 2025: If you're lodging your own tax return, ensure it's submitted by this date. Missing this deadline could result in penalties.

- 15 May 2026: Engaging a registered tax agent can extend your lodgment deadline to this date. However, you must appoint a tax agent before 31 October 2025 to qualify for this extension.

💡 Why Use a Registered Tax Agent?

- Extended lodgement deadlines
- Expert advice to maximise your deductions (legally!)
- Peace of mind knowing your return is handled professionally

🎉 Happy New (Financial) Year! 🎉

Wishing all our clients, friends and followers a prosperous and successful FY26 💼 🚀

As we kick off the new financial year, here are 4 key changes and focus areas businesses should be across:

1️⃣ Super Guarantee Increase – The SG rate has increased to 12% from 1 July, so make sure your payroll systems and cash flow forecasts are up to date.

2️⃣ ATO Interest No Longer Deductible – From 1 July, general interest charges (GIC) and shortfall interest charges (SIC) are no longer tax deductible, even for companies. Timely payments just got even more important.

3️⃣ ATO Focus on Trust Distributions – The ATO is continuing its crackdown on section 100A arrangements. Ensure your trust resolutions are in order and backed by proper documentation.

4️⃣ DPNs in the Firing Line – The ATO is actively issuing Director Penalty Notices (DPNs) for unpaid GST, PAYG and super. Directors, don’t leave compliance to chance.

Here’s to a smart, compliant, and successful FY26! We’re here to support you every step of the way. 👊

📣 Tax Change Alert – ATO Interest No Longer Deductible! ⁣💸

From 1 July 2025, you’ll no longer be able to claim a tax deduction for interest charged by the ATO (like GIC and SIC) – even if it relates to your business.⁣

💥 That means if you let a tax debt sit with the ATO, it’ll now cost you even more – with interest rates currently over 11% AND no tax break to soften the blow.⁣

✅ ATO interest incurred before 1 July 2025 is still deductible.
🚫 ATO interest incurred on or after 1 July 2025 is not.⁣

📌 Tip: Consider refinancing tax debts with a business loan if you still want interest deductibility.

🧾 TAX PLANNING 101 🧾
Want a quick tax win before 30 June?

💡 Pay your employees’ super BEFORE 30 June to bring the deduction into this financial year.

🚨 Super is only deductible when actually paid, not just accrued — so don’t leave it too late for it to hit their fund!

✅ Paid on time = tax deduction this year
🚫 Miss the deadline = deduction next year

Let’s keep your tax bill in check — smart moves now pay off later!

⏰️ Reminder that employee super for the December quarter (or the month of December if you pay monthly) is due for payment by the 28th of January.

For super to be deductible to your business, it needs to have cleared to the employee’s super fund by the due date ⬅️ conservatively, this means that super should be paid by today to give it enough time to process through the super clearing houses 👨‍💻

If you do not pay an employee’s super guarantee on time and to the correct fund, you must lodge a superannuation guarantee charge statement and pay the additional charges & interest to the ATO, yikes 😱
