During National Reconciliation Week, we acknowledge this year’s theme, All In, and encourage reflection on the role we can each play in advancing reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is a week that reminds us that reconciliation is a shared commitment, built through learning, respectful engagement, and the everyday actions we take to create meaningful change.

At SW, we acknowledge reconciliation as an ongoing journey, and through our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we are continuing to build respectful relationships, strengthen cultural understanding, support inclusion, and consider how we can contribute to positive change within our firm and the wider community.

As part of our Volunteer Day initiative, teams travelled to Healesville for a day with TreeProject, planting over 1,000 trees to restore habitat around a dam. This will support the return of local birdlife, while also improving water quality and soil health over time.

Reflecting on the experience:
"Having a day away from the usual work we do as accountants gave me the chance to engage in something practical and still meaningful in a different way. I left with a sense of appreciation for how simple actions can contribute to the community."

"It was a great chance for us all to get outdoors, have a laugh, and work together on something meaningful."

"We were also lucky enough to enjoy a delicious home‑cooked lunch prepared by the farm hosts, which topped off an already great day."

"We have even been invited back one day to see how the trees planted have grown, a really nice reminder that the impact of the day will last well beyond just one afternoon."

Well done to Angus Illingworth, Jordan Browning, Olivia Lapira, Sophie Derbyshire, Thomas Grimsey-Carr, Elijah Andrews, Thomas Kaehne, Lachie Woodward, and Xander Tassell for contributing to such an important initiative.

"Back in 2017, when we first participated in the CEO Sleepout, we didn’t know where it would lead. To be doing it again in our tenth year is something I am proud of, not because of the milestone itself, but because it reflects the commitment of people across our firm who continue to support this important cause."
— Duane Rogers, CEO at SW.

In 2025, the Vinnies CEO Sleepout united over 1,500 business, government, and community leaders across Australia and raised more than $9.4m. The impact was tangible and far-reaching:
- 30,099 people supported nationwide
- 70,010 nights of accommodation provided
- 316,040 meals delivered.

These figures represent real people and families receiving safety, stability, and essential care when they need it most.

This year’s Sleepout will take place on Thursday 18 June, you can support Duane and the cause by contributing to his fundraising page here: https://www.ceosleepout.org.au/fundraisers/duane-rogers

The impact from your donation goes beyond immediate relief. Funds from the Sleepout enable Vinnies to sustain:
- frontline workers and outreach programs
- early intervention services to prevent homelessness
- mobile support vans, caseworkers, and health services.

These initiatives create pathways to secure housing and long-term stability, showing that every dollar raised contributes not only to urgent support but also to lasting change.

Proud to see SW recognised by AAGE as a leader in early talent development, ranking as a Top Intern Program (medium program):
- No. 4 in Accounting and Professional Services
- No. 5 across all industries

What makes this especially meaningful is that these rankings are based entirely on feedback from our Vacationers, with more than 2,500 student survey responses nationally.

Our Vacationer Program is designed to give students genuine hands-on experience from day one, working alongside our teams on real client engagements across a diverse range of industries, while also building networks, developing skills, and creating lasting connections.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in creating such a positive experience for our emerging talent, and best of luck to our Vacationers as they head into their final year of university.

"In Chinese culture, we value family, dignity, and responsibility. If we are fortunate enough to lead, we are also responsible enough to care. By supporting this cause, we are not only giving financially — we are giving hope. I invite you to stand with me and help turn compassion into action."
— Bessie Zhang, Partner in the Assurance & Advisory division at SW.

"As a leader, I believe it’s important to step outside our comfort zones and use our influence for good. Participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout in Perth for the first time is my way of supporting those experiencing homelessness and contributing to real, practical change."
— Matthew Hingeley, Partner in the Assurance & Advisory division at SW.

In Western Australia, homelessness continues to impact thousands of people, with many facing challenges that are not always visible, including housing stress, family breakdown, and limited access to support services. Events like the CEO Sleepout in Perth play a critical role in raising both funds and awareness, helping ensure that local services can respond to increasing demand and reach those who might otherwise fall through the cracks.

— John Dorazio, Partner in the Business & Private Client Advisory division at SW.

Homelessness and housing stress continue to place significant pressure on individuals, families, and young people across Western Australia. Community-led support remains critical in providing both immediate relief and longer-term pathways forward.

In Western Australia, the 2025 Vinnies CEO Sleepout made a real difference:
- $877,586 raised
- 2,770 people reached
- 7,269 nights of safe accommodation provided
- 29,077 meals delivered.

These funds helped families, young people, and individuals across WA access immediate shelter, nutritious meals, and essential support at times of real need.

Beyond immediate relief, the donations also fuel programs that provide longer-term guidance and stability. The Passages Youth Engagement Hubs in Perth and Mandurah offer safe spaces for young people facing homelessness, while the Compass Outreach Program connects them to housing, education, and employment opportunities. Emergency assistance services ensure basic needs are met while building trust and connection.

Supporting John’s fundraising efforts helps sustain these vital services, ensuring more people can access safety, support, and a genuine pathway forward.

"I am excited to be involved in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout again this year as part of the SW's overall involvement in the cause for the 10th consecutive year. It is a humbling experience hearing the stories on the night from the people that live their lives on the streets. The Vinnies team do great work, and they try to ensure every person has an opportunity to find a better life. I am happy to do my bit, as little as it might be, to help Vinnies in this aim."
— Michael Goodrick, FCA, Partner in the Business & Private Client Advisory division at SW.

Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a meaningful role in supporting people doing it tough. Smaller donations can help provide everyday essentials such as meals, warm clothing, and transport to access support services, while larger contributions can assist with emergency accommodation and ongoing casework. Together, these contributions enable Vinnies to respond quickly and compassionately to people in crisis.

Over two days, Managers from across the firm came together to focus on connection, clarity, and capability — building a shared understanding of what great looks like in the Manager role and how to lead effectively at the centre of delivery.

This program was shaped directly by feedback from across the firm, recognising the critical role Managers play in delivering for clients, leading teams, and driving performance. A highlight was hearing from our Partners, who shared their own career journeys and their expectations of Managers in today’s environment, offering practical insight into what it really takes to lead with impact.

We also heard from our CEO, CMO and CFO, bringing a broader perspective on how Managers contribute to client outcomes, commercial performance, and the future growth of the firm.

“Bringing our Managers together is such an important investment. They sit at the centre of delivery — shaping outcomes for our clients, our people, and the firm. The energy and quality of discussion across the two days reinforced just how strong this group of emerging leaders is at SW.”
— Ella Meager, Head of People at SW

A big thank you to our Divisional Leaders and Partners for their contribution, and to Linton Chalmers for facilitating the program and bringing the Manager role to life in such a practical and engaging way. We’re looking forward to continuing the momentum through our Senior Leader Program later this year and seeing the impact flow back into teams and client work.
