Great initiative from the Tullamarine Football Club to support such a worthy cause and big thanks to EliteFin to help make it possible. The jumpers look fantastic.

This Saturday, our Senior Men and Reserves teams will take the field in a special custom jumper to show support for breast cancer research.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the generous support of Cody from EliteFin. Sponsors play a vital role in the success of local football clubs, and we’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from all our sponsors.

We encourage everyone in our community to support the businesses that support us.
Whether it's through their services, products, or simply spreading the word, backing our sponsors helps strengthen both our club and the local community.

Proud to be a sponsor and supporter of the Tullamarine Football Club. A fantastic family club.

I’ve been told that if I sell my shares, I might have to pay capital gains tax (CGT) if I incur a capital gain from the sale. What is a capital gain?

A capital gain refers to the profit earned from the sale or disposal of certain capital assets, such as real estate, shares, managed funds, collectibles, and other investments. When you sell or dispose of an asset for more than its cost base (or adjusted cost base), you realise a capital gain.

The calculation of a capital gain involves subtracting the asset’s cost base (or adjusted cost base) from the proceeds of the sale or disposal. The cost base typically includes the original purchase price of the asset, as well as certain acquisition and disposal costs, such as stamp duty, legal fees, and brokerage fees.

The capital gain (or loss) is the added to your assessable taxable income and tax is paid at your marginal tax rate

Before you sell any investments, you should seek personal advice from a trusted financial adviser so that you can understand the tax and other transaction costs involved.

TIP #1: SPEND LESS THAN YOU EARN
The cornerstone of financial success begins here! Craft a budget aligned with your goals and commit to it. It's not about deprivation; it's about making savvy choices. Trimming unnecessary expenses empowers you to save and invest for the future.

TIP #2: USE THE SURPLUS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER
Kudos on that surplus! Now, let's make it work for you. Whether it's building an emergency fund, investing in yourself, or saving for a dream vacation, leverage that extra cash to enhance your life and create lasting memories.

TIP #3: USE DEBT CAREFULLY
Debt can be a tool, not a trap. Be strategic! Structure it properly, and use it for investments that can potentially grow your wealth. Always have a plan to pay it off responsibly.

Why should I see a Financial Adviser, What do they actually do?

Seeing a Financial Adviser can be beneficial for several reasons, as they can provide valuable guidance and expertise tailored to your specific financial situation. Here are 10 reasons why you might consider consulting a Financial Adviser:

Personalised Financial Planning:
A Financial Adviser can help you create a personalised financial plan based on your goals, risk tolerance, and current financial situation. This plan may include strategies for budgeting, investing, saving for retirement, and managing debt.

Superannuation Planning:
In Australia, superannuation is a crucial aspect of retirement planning. A Financial Adviser can help you understand your superannuation options, optimise contributions, and choose appropriate investment strategies to ensure you're well-prepared for retirement.

Investment Advice:
If you're looking to invest, a Financial Adviser can provide guidance on suitable investment options based on your financial goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. They can help you diversify your investments and make informed decisions to help grow your wealth while managing risks.

Risk Management:
Financial Advisers can assess your insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage to protect you and your family from unforeseen events. This may include life insurance, income protection insurance, and other types of coverage.

Tax Planning:
Advisers can provide guidance on tax-efficient strategies, helping you minimise your tax liability while ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws. This may include advice on deductions, offsets, and other tax planning techniques.

Estate Planning:
A Financial Adviser can assist in creating an estate plan, ensuring that your assets are distributed according to your wishes. They can also help minimise the impact of taxes and fees on your estate.

Education and Information:
Financial advisers can educate you about various financial concepts and strategies, helping you make informed decisions. This can be particularly valuable if you're not familiar with certain aspects of personal finance.

Market Insights:
Financial advisers stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and investment opportunities. They can provide you with timely information and advice to navigate changing market conditions.

Behavioral Coaching:
A Financial Adviser can provide emotional support and act as a behavioral coach, helping you stay disciplined and focused on your long-term financial goals, especially during market fluctuations.

Continuous Monitoring and Adjustments:
Your financial situation may change over time due to various factors. A Financial Adviser can regularly review your plan, making adjustments as needed to ensure it remains aligned with your goals.

When choosing a Financial Adviser, it's important to work with someone who is qualified, licensed, and reputable. It is also important to work with a Financial Adviser who you can trust and has your best interest in mind, at the end of the day, you will be relying on them with some of your biggest life decisions.

Should I consolidate my super accounts?

Deciding whether to consolidate your superannuation accounts depends on your specific financial situation and goals. Consolidating your super accounts can have several potential benefits, but it’s important to consider the following factors before deciding:

1. Reducing fees: By consolidating multiple super accounts into a single account, you may be able to reduce the overall fees you pay.

2. Simplifying management: Managing multiple super accounts can be cumbersome and time-consuming. Consolidating your accounts can simplify the management process.

3. Investment strategy: Consolidating your super accounts allows you to have a more cohesive investment strategy. With multiple accounts, you may have different investment options, risk profiles, and asset allocations.

4. Insurance coverage: If you have insurance coverage within your super accounts, consolidating may impact your insurance arrangements.

5. Lost benefits: Before consolidating, consider any benefits or features that may be attached to your existing super accounts. Some accounts may offer unique benefits, such as lower fees, performance bonuses, or access to specific investment options.

6. Exit fees and penalties: Some super funds may charge exit fees or impose penalties for transferring or consolidating your super.

Before making any decisions regarding your super, book a call with our qualified financial advisers.
