Across our group, we are fortunate to have leaders who have earned the trust of clients and colleagues over many years.

We would like to recognise three of them. Jared Zagami, Ellen Soh and Nathan Cirillo have recently stepped into Director roles.

Each of them has built a strong reputation through technical knowledge, care for clients, sound judgement and a willingness to support the people around them. Their progression reflects the work they have put in and the confidence placed in them as leaders.

Ellen is based at our Melbourne Factor1 office, Nathan at our Shepparton Factor1 office, and Jared at our Eager and Partners office in Bairnsdale.

Please join us in congratulating Ellen, Nathan and Jared.

And if you have the chance to work with them, you will be in very good hands.

Payday Super started on 1 July, and it is easy to focus on the new rules and lose sight of one thing: your June quarter super is still due by 28 July under the old system.

Our latest article covers all three July priorities for employers: Payday Super, the June quarter deadline, and the new minimum wage rates.

If you would like a second set of eyes on your payroll, speak with your accountant or get in touch.

End of financial year is approaching, and a few areas are worth checking before 30 June. Superannuation contributions need to reach the fund, not just be paid, if you want the deduction this financial year. The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House also closes for good on 30 June, so anyone still using it needs a new arrangement in place. Add WorkCover declarations, payroll tax, and Single Touch Payroll finalisation to the list, and it is a lot to track at once.

We have put it all in one place, including a quick reference table.

If this affects your business, speak with your accountant before making decisions.

If your business uses the ATO Small Business Superannuation Clearing House, there is something you need to act on before 30 June.

The clearing house closes permanently on 30 June 2026, which means the final quarterly super payment for April to June cannot be processed through it. That payment is still due on 28 July, but you will need a different way to make it.

The article covers what to do before the end of the financial year, including the Q4 deadline, Payday Super from 1 July, and what happens if payments are late.

If your business has tax, superannuation, payroll, supplier payments, unpaid invoices, stock or planned asset purchases before 30 June, cash flow should be reviewed before year-end decisions are made.

End-of-financial-year (EOFY) planning is not just about deductions. A deduction can change taxable income, but it does not remove the need to manage cash, timing and upcoming commitments.

This article covers what business owners should review before 30 June, including:
• cash on hand
• unpaid invoices
• stock and work in progress
• superannuation
• Australian Taxation Office (ATO) debt
• asset purchases
• the July to September cash flow forecast

Before making year-end decisions, speak with your accountant.
