New 5.0-star Review: "I contacted Midstate Financial Services (Stuart) to discuss the purchase of an investment property and what my options would be. The honest advise and various loan options (with costing figures) provided by Stuart ensured a best fit for my circumstances and needs. Stuart answered all my questions, concerns and queries in a professional and extermely timely manner. When the loan type and provider was decided, Stuart arrange all the necessary approval paperwork and forms (with easy to understand step by step instructions). All I had to do was sign, as indicated, and post the forms to the loan provider. (Midstate even provided the pre address envelope). When all was completed and approved I received (personnel) confirmation from Stuart followed by the bank. Using Midstate Financial Services made the whole process painless, easy and I know I received the best advise and options (interest rates) available. The mortgage broking industry has evolved and digital advancements has allowed us to streamline our personal service with our clients. Online loan application programs, email, DropBox, e-Signing etc allows me to liaise more effectively saving time and improving efficiencies.

I have resided in Nambucca Heads for the past 4 years and as these systems has allowed me to successfully work remotely for my national and international clients I have resolved to close my Orange office. That does not mean I am closing my business – far from it – my business continues to grow and that is thanks to referrals from my existing clients.

Buy Now Pay Later - the hidden danger potentially stopping you from owning your own home...

The Buy Now Pay Later sector is winning-over the youth demographic with the promise of instant gratification, but leading mortgage brokers are warning that with every sugar-high comes the risk of a corresponding low.

‘Buy Now Pay Later’ providers such as AfterPay and Zip Pay have experienced massive growth in popularity, with the number of users jumping from 400,000 to approximately 2 million between 2015 and 2018.

Driven by a simple proposition whereby the Buy Now Pay Later provider pays the merchant on behalf of the customer, allowing the customer to obtain the goods or receive a service immediately while subsequently paying off the debt generally through instalments, Buy Now Pay Later presents a tempting offering.

But as the sector’s breakneck growth continues, mortgage professionals are warning users, particularly in the younger demographic, to be cautious of overdoing it as this could risk effecting their chances of securing a home loan further down the track.

A frequent pattern of ‘buy now pay later’ transactions on bank statements could trigger questions regarding spending behaviours and the possibility of a loan application being declined.

“If a lender sees a ‘buy now pay later’ provider frequently on a client’s bank statements, that can trigger more questions about their spending behaviours and ultimately may mean they choose to decline the application.

To strengthen your mortgage application it is recommended that you manage your expenses to demonstrate to the bank that you can afford to service a mortgage. A bank will typically review 3 to 6 months of your transaction history and up to 12 months for credit history transactions.
