Today is more than just a morning tea for us - it’s something deeply personal, and a cause that’s very close to our hearts.

Like so many others, we’ve seen firsthand the impact cancer can have on the people we love. The strength, the heartbreak, the hope - it never leaves you. That’s why we’re coming together to support the Cancer Council and help make a difference for those currently facing this journey, those who have fought so hard and survived, and those who may face it in the future.

With the Federal Budget released on Tuesday night, we know you may have questions about how it could impact you.

• Continued focus on easing cost-of-living pressures

🏡 Housing & investment changes
• Negative gearing limited to new builds from July 2027
• Capital gains tax reforms replacing the current discount with an inflation-based approach
• Measures aimed at improving housing affordability and supply

🧾 Tax reform
• New 30% minimum tax on certain trusts from July 2028 - restructure
• Broader shifts designed to rebalance the system towards wage earners
• Restructure Rollover Relief: From 1 July 2027, a three-year rollover relief will be available to facilitate restructuring from discretionary trusts into companies or fixed trusts without triggering immediate capital gains tax (CGT) consequences

🏥 Health & care funding
• Increased investment in public hospitals and Medicare services
• Permanent funding for urgent care clinics
• Changes to NDIS to improve sustainability

🏢 Business & investment
• $20,000 instant asset write-off extended for small business
• Reduced red tape and productivity-focused reforms
• Ongoing infrastructure and defence investment

📉 Economic outlook
• Budget remains in deficit (~$30B) but improving
• Inflation expected to peak around ~5% amid global pressures
