📢 Heads up for business owners — Payday Super is changing how and when you pay super for contractors!

From 1 July 2026, if you're currently required to pay super for an independent contractor, that obligation continues, but with new timing rules:
✅ Super must be paid every payday
✅ It must reach their super fund within 7 business days

Paying by invoice? The payday is counted from the date you pay that invoice, so super needs to land in their fund within 7 business days of that.

Our tip: pay their super at the same time you pay them. It's the easiest way to stay compliant and avoid any headaches down the track.

Not sure if your contractors are eligible for super? Drop us a message

Heavy vehicle operators and fuel‑dependent businesses: recent changes to the road user charge and fuel excise may impact your fuel tax credits.

If you lodge activity statements, now is a good time to review your rates and ensure your claims are up to date 📌

With fuel prices increasing, the ATO is offering additional support to help taxpayers stay on top of their obligations.

Businesses may be able to access a temporary payment plan, while individuals experiencing hardship can use existing ATO support services.

📌 Heads up! The government has proposed a new $1,000 standard tax deduction for people who earn wages.

It’s planned to start from the 2027 financial year (so not this current year).

A few things to know:
📍 It’s a deduction, not a $1,000 refund
📍 Most people may save a few hundred dollars
📍 If you claim more than $1,000 in expenses, you’ll still need receipts

If you’re unsure what this means for you, reach out:

Big changes are coming for accountants, solicitors, real estate agents, and jewellers from 1 July 2026 ⚖️

New AML/CTF rules mean:
· Registration with AUSTRAC
· Customer checks and due diligence
· Reporting suspicious matters
· Formal AML/CTF programs

Because of this, we may ask clients for extra documents when performing some tasks.
