I had a client come into my office.
He was tired, exhausted, and just wanted to know one thing.
How do I read my bloody reports?? It makes no sense! I know the numbers in my head; why don't I get it??
After sitting down for 45 minutes, hashing out feelings, frustration, and saving reports and how-tos onto his laptop, he sat back in his chair and sighed. Then apologised.
I explained no one should have to apologise and should always have access to real-time information and answers when they need.

Can I tell you a secret?

The business owners who ask the most questions are usually the ones who end up building the strongest businesses.

Not because they know everything.

Because they're curious enough to learn.

Most of the conversations around my desk start with:

"This is probably a silly question..."

It never is.

One of the saddest things I hear is...

"I feel silly asking."

Please don't.

Nobody teaches us how to read a Profit & Loss report.
Nobody teaches us what a Balance Sheet actually means.
Nobody teaches us why GST can catch us out.

We're expected to just... know.
