A little bit about us...
We have been informally set up since 2009 due to the rising level of ATO activity targeting the residency status of international students. We stepped in and helped a large numbers of students free of charge by responding to their amended notices of assessment issued by the ATO taxing them at non-resident tax rates. We focused on ATO Tax Ruling TR 98/17 to prove to the AT
O that the students were indeed Australian residents and we were successful in getting tax refunds for all students who passed the residency rules tests in TR 98/17. Most of us were international students at one point in time and we felt empathy towards their plight. We became well known and were considered to be capable accountants with a 'can-do' attitude since then. Currently we still provide pro-bono accounting and tax advice to international students and to selected business start-ups. We also provide ongoing accounting services free of charge to:
