⚠️ ASIC Warning for Small Business Owners – Please Share
I’m seeing more and more small business owners caught by unsolicited business name renewal notices, domain name renewal notices, and company review letters that look official but often come from private third-party businesses.
These notices can closely resemble correspondence from ASIC or other government agencies, making it easy for busy business owners to assume they are legitimate government invoices.
This has been happening for many years and continues to cost small businesses hundreds of dollars in unnecessary fees.
Before paying any renewal notice:
✅ Check who issued it
✅ Confirm whether it is actually from ASIC
✅ Compare the fee with the official ASIC fee
✅ If unsure, ask your accountant or tax adviser
In most cases, you can renew your business name or company registration directly through ASIC and pay only the official government fee.
Please take a few moments to review any notice carefully before making payment, and share this post to help protect other small business owners from paying unnecessary fees.
