PAYDAY SUPER IS COMING - 1/7/2026

Our beautiful clients that are on Xero (which is all of you lol) will simply change process a little to add an extra step to pay super via the AutoSuper function within Xero Payroll - this is already setup! The change will be that instead of us assisting you with this process each quarter you will take the reigns and process it each time you do payroll and the super will direct debit from your account.

Time to review your payroll process - if we are doing payroll for you as a catch up at the time of sorting your BAS each quarter you will need to change process! We will guide you through this change. So in short no more paying employees manually and entering into Xero later - it all needs to be done on payday.

How Payday Super works
Payday Super is a change to how you calculate and when you pay your employees’ super guarantee. From 1 July 2026 you must pay employees their super guarantee on payday, at the same time as their salary and wages.

Super guarantee is: (Xero Payroll calculates this all for you)

calculated as 12% of an employee's qualifying earnings (QE), which is a new term that brings together ordinary time earnings (OTE) and other payments
paid to an employees’ super fund on payday and received by the super fund within 7 business days (unless an extended timeframe applies, such as for new employees).
