Federal Budget 2026 - tax highlights

Last night the Federal Budget proposed a number of tax changes!
- future personal income tax cuts for those earning under $45000
- extension of the $20000 instant asset write off for small business
- major changes to capital gains tax from 1/7/27
- negative gearing changes
- 30% minimum tax on discretionary trust distributions from 1/7/28
- company tax loss carry back reintroduction
