A standard claim for many tradies but what about carrying a laptop? It is a no sadly.
But a great post to discuss what is missing - that dreaded logbook - as we tell our clients, if you want the claim you have to do your homework.
Please keep a log book for the 12 weeks of your busiest travel time, also helps if you get a letter from your employer confirming you do drive your car for work related travel and are not reimbursed for the travel, but whilst you have your employer writing that letter, ask them to include your mobile phone usage as well. It all helps if you are chosen for an audit.

(NOTE - for the log book please complete the requirements, the description is most important to be detailed, opening and closing kms and the dates are a must).

We have available appointments starting from 24th August 2026 but they are filling fast.

We have onboarded quite a few new clients this tax season and will always make room for more clients new and old.

We are currently heading off for a long weekend before the busy time starts.
Our Jack is Turning 18 so for this milestone we are taking him away.

The office is closed for Thursday (9/7 and Friday 10/7) but we shall be back on Monday the 13th July 2026 at 9.00am.

VICTORIAN STATE BUDGET.
Is anyone going to be watching with anticipation like we will be?

For a few weeks the media has been murmuring a few things to come into play…. The 50% CG extend T discount being removed? Hopefully grandfathered in. It maybe for investments purchased after a budget date but any prior may have a indexation formula for when the asset is sold - don’t worry 😉 we accountants will have this sorted 😭😭😭😭

Focusing on cost of living, health, education, safety and the economy.

Although we do not anticipate a huge change as there is not much in our Victorian kitty, we do hope that it does help ALL Victorians.
