As you approach retirement, it is a good idea to think about how much you are going to spend each year.

For most people who have gone their entire lives never really having a set budget, this can be a bit daunting.

Suddenly you have a large pot of money and you need to make decisions about how much you pull from it each month and if this is too much or too little.

What also adds to this is retirement spending isn’t consistent.

Usually in the first few years of retirement, spending is a bit higher as you tick off some of those early retirement goals. These are usually travel, renovations, maybe even gifts to family.

But as you move through retirement, spending usually reduces before increasing again at the end for additional care costs.

Having a plan about your retirement and how much to spend will ensure you maximise how long your money lasts and ensures you don’t blow up your retirement in the first few years.

If you’re looking for someone to help you map out your financial plan, then please reach out. We work with clients all over Australia and would love to hear from you.

Money isn't just about buying stuff, it's about buying choices.

Money can buy you:
• The freedom to leave a job you hate.
• The choice to work fewer hours.
• More time with your family.
• Experiences you'll remember for the rest of your life.
• The ability to help the people you love.
• A little less stress when life throws you a curveball.

And yes, money can also buy you fun, cool things. But accumulating stuff is not the goal.

I really do think that you can have the best of both worlds, you just need to plan for it and align the way you spend with your personal values.

12 years ago today, Bounce Financial opened its doors.

Those doors were at home. And honestly? That's where this whole thing started, just a real belief that financial advice should help people actually live their lives, not just prepare for some distant "one day."

A lot has changed since then. We've moved offices more than once. We landed on the Sunshine Coast (pinch me). We now work with people all over Australia. We've had incredible staff, old and new, who've poured themselves into what we do. And we've had clients who trusted us enough to send their friends and family our way, which is the biggest compliment in this industry.

But what hasn't changed is the thing that started it all: Money is a tool, to live the life you want.

My job is to help you figure out what that looks like and then build the money around it. I knew that 12 years ago and I still believe it more than ever.

So to every client, referral partner, staff member and supporter: Thank you. Genuinely.

We're celebrating with cake in the office today. 🎂

And we're just getting started.

End of Financial Year - how are we here already!?

The lead up to the EOFY this year has been very quick and full of crazy tax changes from the federal budget as well as the usual tax reduction moves.

Most of the work has already been done by now for all of our clients, so this week we tie up loose ends and start planning for the new financial year ahead.

How much you earn and how wealthy you are, are entirely different things.

You can be a big earner who is not very wealthy.

You can be wealthy and not earn a lot of money.

Whilst earning more makes becoming wealthy easier, it doesn’t automatically make you wealthy.

If you’re looking to start investing to build wealth but don’t know where to start, then please reach out. We have clients all over Australia and would love to hear from you.
