From 1 July 2026, quarterly super payments are out. Every pay run will need a super payment, and contributions must reach the employeeโ€™s fund within 7 business days of payday.

One missed deadline can mean the Superannuation Guarantee Charge, plus interest and penalties. If your current payroll process still runs on quarterly timing, now is the time to get ahead of this change.

Be honest: when did you last review your business structure? ๐Ÿค”

Most people set up their structure early on and never look at it again. But as your business grows, what worked at the start might not be protecting you or saving you tax as effectively as it should.

We regularly help clients review whether a sole trader, company, or trust structure still makes sense for their situation.

It's worth a conversation. Drop us a message or book a consultation.

No more card surcharges from 1 October 2026.

Eftpos, Mastercard, and Visa: all covered. One final price at checkout, whether in-store, online or via mobile.

If your business currently charges a surcharge, review your merchant fees and update your systems before the deadline.

From 1 October 2026, businesses will no longer be able to add surcharges to credit and debit card payments made through eftpos, Mastercard and Visa. This means customers must see one final price at checkout, whether they pay in store, online or through a mobile payment option. For businesses, the ke...

For SG deductions, the money must physically clear into the employeeโ€™s super fund by June 30. If it doesnโ€™t, the deduction shifts into next year, even if you lodged it on time.

The usual 28-day quarterly deadline helps with compliance, but it wonโ€™t save the current-year tax deduction. If youโ€™re planning super payments now, donโ€™t leave them until the final day.

3 things every small business owner should do before 30 June ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœ… Review your super guarantee obligations
โœ… Pre-pay deductible expenses where it makes sense
โœ… Check your invoicing and make sure income is correctly timed

Small moves before the financial year ends can make a real difference to your tax position.

Not sure where to start? That's what we're here for.

Fuel bills biting harder than cash flow?

For some businesses, the ATO already has a pathway to help when high fuel costs are the reason a tax debt canโ€™t be paid right now.

Eligible businesses may be able to apply for a payment plan with no upfront payment, up to 36 monthly instalments, and potential GIC remission, but only if lodgments are brought up to date within three months of the plan starting.

And if Payday Super is on your radar, the clock starts from 1 July 2026: super must reach funds within 7 business days of payday, with stapled super and qualifying earnings rules also coming into play.

If fuel costs are squeezing your business, letโ€™s check what applies before the 30 June 2026 deadline. Contact us today!
