A significant milestone for the not-for-profit sector. 📢

The AASB has issued a new Tier 3 reporting standard introducing simpler, more practical requirements for general purpose financial reporting, replacing special purpose reporting for many NFPs.

This outcome reflects years of engagement with members and stakeholders. The feedback helped drive meaningful simplifications -particularly in areas like consolidation, leases and revenue, ensuring the reporting is workable in practice.

The focus now shifts to implementation. Clear and consistent scope of application from regulators across jurisdictions will be critical to making this reform successful.

A strong reminder of the value of practitioner insight in shaping reforms that serve the public interest and work on the ground.

It was a privilege for CA ANZ to take part in the Business Educators Australasia Inc (BEA) 2026 Biennial Conference in Melbourne as Platinum Sponsor and long-term partner. 🎒

Centred on Educate for Impact, the conference brought together passionate educators and experts shaping more confident, capable and future-ready students. We were inspired by insights from leaders including CA ANZ President Naomi Walsh FCA FAICD, alongside speakers who highlighted the importance of connecting classroom learning to real-world pathways.

A clear theme emerged: helping students see the breadth of opportunities in accounting, business and finance, and equipping them with the confidence and adaptability to pursue them.

At CA ANZ, this is where our commitment lies, working alongside educators to strengthen teaching capability, support meaningful career conversations, and create clearer pathways into the profession.

Thank you to Business Educators Australasia, the Victorian Commercial Teachers Association (VCTA), and all speakers and educators who shared insights and challenged thinking. We’re proud to be part of a community driving impact through education.
