We are hiring - Part-Time Bookkeeper – Northern Beaches

$45/hour + super | 3 days per week | Majority WFH

MMB Bookkeeping Services is a trusted Northern Beaches practice specialising in small and medium businesses across trades and service industries. We’re growing, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us — not just for now, but for the long haul.

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position working up to 20 hours per week, with the majority of work completed from home and one day per week in our Northern Beaches office. We’re looking for someone who wants to plant roots — a long-term team member who takes ownership of their clients, builds genuine relationships, and sees this as a role they can settle into and grow.

• Permanent part-time

• $45 + super

• Majority WFH with one in-office day per week (Northern Beaches)

• Collaborative team culture with a genuine commitment to professional growth

What You’ll Be Doing

• Full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business clients

• BAS preparation and lodgement

• Payroll processing including STP reporting

• Accounts payable and receivable management

• Hubdoc document management and coding

• Clear, timely communication with clients and team members

About You

• 6+ years bookkeeping experience, including BAS and payroll

• Confident with Xero (essential), MYOB, Hubdoc, and Google Sheets

• Karbon experience is an advantage — happy to train the right person

• Embraces technology and stays current with industry tools and changes

• A quick learner with a can-do attitude and genuine pride in accuracy

• Works well independently but loves contributing to a team

• Dependable, accountable, and committed for the long term

We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented subcontractor bookkeeper to join our Northern Beaches team. This role is perfect for someone local (perhaps a mum re-entering the workforce or looking for steady part-time hours) who enjoys taking ownership, working with a supportive team, and balancing work and family life.

About the Role
• 12 hours per week to start, with the potential to grow to 20 hours
• Flexible working arrangements (majority WFH)
• One day per week in our office on the Northern Beaches
• Rate: $45 per hour
Key Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping and BAS preparation tasks
• Payroll processing, accounts payable & receivables
• Using Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks and Karbon (happy to train in Karbon if new)
• Communicating clearly with team members and clients
• Taking responsibility for accurate, timely work
• Solving problems with a steady, accountable approach
About You
• 6+ years bookkeeping experience (BAS and payroll essential)
• Confident with Xero (Karbon experience an advantage)
