Last week we talked and heard about festivities and healthy eating and lifestyle. Nurturing our spiritual and physical well being will also radiate to our professional lives, that's why those sides of our lives are equally important than our brainiac endeavours.

One of the great things about Toastmasters is how it can boost your creativity and makes your brains tick even more. What would your future look like if your life was enhanced with more viewpoints, creativity and well being?

Join us next week, on Wed 8/5 6:15 pm, to grow together with us!

A key part of our professional lives are meetings. Love or hate them, the ability to lead meetings effectively is a key skill we all need.

Many of the roles in our club meetings help you to practice this. Over time, you learn to lead meetings and events with poise and use the time well.

Join our meeting next week, on the 24th at 6:15 pm to learn more.

After a long break, we finally were able to get together in person last week. Such a treat! And awesome to see the online faces in real life. 😃

* A learning from the meeting: make sure your audience knows the context before you share your message. *

If your audience is vague on the context or setting of where you want to take them, their brains automatically start to fill in the blanks. This will divert their attention away from your presentation or speech. Making sure at the start that everyone is on the same page with you allows them to focus on you message and recommendations 100%.

Join us next week again, on Wed 27/3 6:15 pm, for another great session to become a better public speaker.

Do you need to share the end of year results within your organisation? Or keep the project portfolios well informed of their financial positions?

What would success look like? Your presentation raises more interest and plenty of great questions? You answer also the left-field questions fluently? Your recommendations are adopted because they make sense?

We practice many things which help you ahead on your path to success.

Join us on Wednesday, 13 March, 6:15 - 7:15 pm, in the CA ANZ building at 33 Erskine St, Sydney, or online via Zoom (message us for the link).

Last week we met to have good fun around our theme of 'Love'. We celebrated the Valentine's Day already in advance. Our speech, "Dear lovebirds!", imitated a best man's speech in a wedding.

If you have a wedding coming up and want to practice your best man's speech, need to polish a work presentation, or anything in between, join our next meeting on the 21st at 6:30 pm.

Did someone say 'unexpected questions in work meetings?'

Come and join us on Wednesday, 6:15 - 7:15 pm, and take your next step in shining in meetings!

Message us for the Zoom meeting details.

Last week our meeting was smaller in numbers but big in content. We stretched ourselves with a 'mystery meeting' where the roles are assigned at the start (instead of the usual allocations in advance). This is always a great way to push our limits a bit further.

In his speech Jason reminded us of the value of small milestones. They may look bypassing in the big picture but are significant in the moment and worthy our efforts. They also mark our progress ahead.

Our next meeting is next Wednesday, 7 Feb, 6:15 pm. If you want to be a better speaker and presenter, join us there!

New year's resolution? Aspiration? Theme or word?

Whatever you promised to yourself for 2024, one of the most impactful actions you can take is practicing public speaking. It is one of the best and easiest ways to build your credibility and your position at work. When you look at who people listen to, they all are good communicators.

Join our friendly group this Wednesday at 6:15 pm for an hour to practice your skills. We are fellow professionals in finance and related fields and learn together to share messages with clarity.

Email us at [email protected] or send a FB message to get your Zoom link.

Public speaking does more than just elevate you in the eyes of your manager and senior executives. Your presence on stage at conferences and events can also affect your industry reputation.

"So, tell us a little bit about yourself."

The job interview question dreaded by so many. Yet, it is your opportunity for a great first impression and set the tone for the rest of the conversation.

Kalven is practising how he responds to this. Helpful tips followed.

If you want to learn communication skills which will help you ahead, join us in our next meeting on 11/10.

Presenting, discussing and negotiating online is part of our life now. How you come across on the screen can have a big impact on how closely you are listened to.

In our last meeting, Kalven shared life lessons he's picked up from golf lessons, including a few gems we can apply at work, as well. We also practiced presenting short and sharp views on why good governance matters in companies.

Join us on 27/9 at 6:15 pm to practice your communication skills!
