155,253 people in the UK just forced a climate debate into Parliament. 🌍

The government had already responded back in June, pointing to plans it already had. People kept signing anyway, and once the petition passed 100,000 signatures it had to be considered for debate.

Congratulations to everyone who stood up for the change they want to see in their community. 👏

The same arithmetic works here. Shareholder resolutions, super fund switches, open letters and petitions all run on it. Individual actions only look small until they are added up.

How confident are you that your super will fund the retirement you actually want? 🤔

For fewer than 2 in 5 Australians, the answer is "not very".

But here's the hopeful part... From the same research it was found that over 3 in 4 people who get financial advice feel prepared for retirement, compared with fewer than half of those without it.

The gap often has less to do with how much you have, and more to do with looking, and getting a bit of guidance.

There's no national register, no oversight, and no requirement to disclose any of it.

New research, which surveyed Australians aged 55 to 75 who are not fully retired, found 32% were not taking steps to improve or plan for their retirement.

The findings suggest emotional barriers, rather than apathy, are discouraging engagement, with many respondents overwhelmed by the perceived complexity of retirement planning or convinced they have left it too late to make a difference.
