Thinking about buying new equipment before EOFY to reduce your tax bill? ๐Ÿ’ธ

Here are a few things to keep in mind ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœ”๏ธ Instant asset write-off eligibility depends on current ATO rules and thresholds
โœ”๏ธ The asset generally needs to be installed and ready for use before 30 June
โœ”๏ธ Purchasing something your business doesnโ€™t genuinely need may not improve your overall cash position

A tax deduction is not the same as getting the money back.

Spending money purely for a deduction can still leave your business with less cash in the bank.

Good business decisions should come first - tax outcomes second. โœ…

If youโ€™re unsure how EOFY purchases may affect your business, speak with your registered tax professional for advice specific to your situation.

A new month, a fresh start and a step closer to the end of the financial year.

Just popping in to remind you of some important dates for April.

If you're on a monthly activity statement cycle your March 2026 due date for submission and payment is 21st April.

For those on quarterly who submit via paper forms, your March 2026 quarter BAS is due on 28th April 2026. However, if you submit via a BAS Agent (like me) you receive an automatic extension until 26th May 2026.

For those of you with employees March 2026 Qtr superannuation payments are due by 28th April 2026.

A good rule of thumb is to keep three to six months of operating expenses saved for your business.

This reserve can help you:

- Cover slow sales periods
- Handle unexpected expenses
- Pay bills on time
- Reduce financial stress
- Make better decisions without feeling pressured

Cash reserves give your business stability and breathing room when things do not go exactly as planned.

Cash flow can make or break a business - especially here in Australia where BAS and tax obligations come into play.

Here are 4 simple ways to stay in control:

โœ”๏ธ Send invoices promptly
Send invoices as soon as the job is done - donโ€™t wait until month-end.

โœ”๏ธ Follow up overdue payments
Late payers hurt cash flow - set reminders and follow up consistently.

โœ”๏ธ Keep your expenses in check
Reviewing your costs regularly can help you save money, especially as costs rise.

โœ”๏ธ Plan ahead for BAS & tax
Set aside funds for GST and tax so there are no surprises.

A little organisation now can save a lot of stress later ๐Ÿ™Œ

If youโ€™re feeling overwhelmed with cash flow or BAS prep, Iโ€™m here to help.
