Annual accounts are running late. Audit queries are dragging on. Compliance deadlines slipping. Costs are creeping up every single quarter.

If this sounds like your firm during SMSF season, you're not alone, but you are absorbing a problem that doesn't have to be yours.

The pressure your team feels every quarter isn't a sign they need to work harder. It's a sign your current operating model has hit its ceiling.

The firms scaling without the stress have made one shift: they stopped trying to do everything in-house.

It's time to rethink how your practice handles peak season.

A 40% reduction in back office costs isn't a goal. It's a result of our partners already living.

The firms climbing to the top aren't cutting corners, they're cutting inefficiency. They made one strategic decision to restructure how their SMSF operations run, and the numbers followed.

The door is open. The question is whether you're ready to walk through it.

If your firm is still absorbing the full weight of SMSF administration in-house, it's worth asking what that's actually costing you.

Visit ncsgx.com.au to find out how we can help.

"Trust tax crackdown" makes a great headline. It also makes for rushed decisions.

A minimum tax on discretionary-trust distributions has been listed as a 2026–27 measure proposed, not law. The rate, threshold and start date are all still unset.

For most families, a trust isn't a dodge; it's a legitimate structure for sharing profit, protecting assets and planning across generations.

So the move isn't to restructure in a panic. It's to know how exposed you actually are, and what's worth waiting on.

Review now, react later. Swipe for what's proposed, who could be caught, and what's still unknown.

Two lists today. What closes tonight, and what switches on tomorrow.

Closing: assets in use, super received by the fund, trust resolutions, bad debts, and prepayments.

Starting 1 July: Payday Super, the write-off change, the AML enrolment clock to 29 July, and Division 296.

The hinge between FY26 and FY27 is where firms get caught heads down, closing the year, then walking into the new one unprepared.

FY26 done? Let's set FY27 up properly.

SMSF property rules are about to change 🏠

A proposed ban on new LRBAs from 1 July 2027 could close the main way self-managed super funds borrow to buy property.

Here's what it means πŸ‘‡
πŸ”Ή Existing loans likely stay (but confirm it)
πŸ”Ή No rushing in, it still has to suit the client
πŸ”Ή More strategy reviews and paperwork ahead

Save this for the conversations coming your way, and follow for plain-English updates.
