A new scam protection feature has been added to the ATO app. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from the ATO:
1. Login to the ATO app.
2. Click on "Verify call" on the main screen.
3. Press the "Verify call" button.
4. If the caller is not verified by the ATO app, hang up straight away.

From 1 July the rules for paying employee super are changing. Is your small business ready?
Instead of quarterly payments every 28th October, January, April and July, employers must process super at the same time as salaries and wages are paid, and funds must be received by the employees’ super funds within 7 days.

Compensation payments will be non assessable income (tax free) under the recently legislated gun buyback scheme, even if the fi****ms were used in the course of your business. This is the same as the original gun buyback in 1996.
