You may have heard in the media that you need to lodge your return by 31 October. For most people doing their own returns online, this is true. However, if you are listed under a registered tax agent, most individuals have an extended date for lodgement.

Check out our website for a list of key dates relating to lodgement of tax returns and activity statements. This can be found under the Useful Information tab at the top of the homepage under Key Dates.

PAYG instalments, for those on the ATO’s PAYG instalment system, are due to be paid by 28 October.

For those in business lodging Business Activity Statements, a reminder that the September quarter BAS is due 28 October. If you have a registered Tax or BAS agent, you may be eligible for an extension to lodge and pay to 25 November.

A further reminder for employers that the September quarter super guarantee must be lodged and paid prior to 28 October.

If you need help or advice on taxation matters, please give our friendly team a call. Phone the Taree office on 02 6552 3533 or Forster on 02 6554 7566.
