Employers: From 1 July 2026, changes are coming to how and when you make super contributions for your employees.
What’s changing?
You will need to pay your employees’ super guarantee for each payday, instead of needing to pay it quarterly.
To avoid penalties, your employees’ super fund must receive the payment within 7 business days after each payday.
The ATO are making changes to:
> SuperStream, to improve error messages and introduce a new member verification request to help reduce errors.
> Single Touch Payroll, to require you to report amounts for both super liability and a new concept called qualifying earnings.
Why you need to prepare now
These changes may affect your cash flow and payroll processes, particularly as you move to more frequent payments. In July this year, you may need to make multiple super payments, including:
> the final quarterly super payment for April to June, due by 28 July, and
> super payments for each payday from 1 July onwards.
Steps you can take now
You should:
> review the ATO website for more information, including our Payday Super checklist for employers
> review your business and payroll processes so you’re ready to pay super for each payday, or the day you pay the invoice for contractors
> make a plan for managing multiple super payments in July
> check that your current super payments are going through correctly and that any changes to employee super fund details have been updated.
Act now
Planning early will help you move to Payday Super smoothly and avoid unnecessary penalties.
Here are some quick ways to get the guidance you need:
> download and work through the Payday Super checklist for employers. Visit the ATO website and search QC 106089
> learn more about Payday Super. Visit the ATO website and search QC 105837
> access videos, checklists and fact sheets. Visit the ATO website and search QC 106087
> speak with us. We can provide advice tailored to your business.

We are back and ready to help you through 2026! We wish all of our clients - and friends (mostly are both!) - a wonderful year ahead. We can't wait to catch up with you all real soon...

The way small businesses pay super is about to change.

From 1 July 2026, the ATO’s Small Business Super Clearing House (SBSCH) will close. At the same time, payday super reforms will come into effect, requiring you to pay super at the same time as wages.

For the 200,000+ businesses currently relying on the SBSCH, this means:
• No more quarterly payments - tighter timeframes mean less room for error.
• More admin - unless you have the right automated solution.
• Potential penalties if you miss or delay contributions.

Why you need to act now!

Waiting until 2026 could leave your business scrambling. Employers who delay may risk:
• Staff retraining under pressure.
• Cash flow shocks with more frequent payments.
• ATO penalties for late or incorrect contributions.

Don’t leave it until the last minute

The ATO has been clear: employers are responsible for paying super on time. Once payday super begins, additional penalties for missed or late payments will apply.

Transition early and give your business the confidence to handle payday super without stress

This month see us celebrate our 25th anniversary at RJS 🥳
While the company started many years earlier, October 2000 was the year our Director, Kylie Anderson, moved to town,
From that time, we have grown into the current 10 amazing people on our team. Today, that means 118 years of RJS experience here to help you!
If Shane had held off retiring for just two more months, the number would be 143 years - just incredible team commitment.
Of course, we all had experience prior to joining, but that number is far too scary to calculate 🫣.
Thank you to clients, past, present and future for making this a great place to come to work each day.

Tax time is in full swing and so are the scammers!
Here are 3 tips to help you stay safe:

* Don’t trust emails or texts with QR codes or links to online portals claiming to be about your tax. It’s scammers trying to steal your personal information.
* When checking the status of your tax return or using online services, always type the URL into your web browser. Don’t click on a link in a message.
* Make sure you protect your TFN, ABN and myID/RAM login details. Never give out personal information to anyone unless they genuinely need it.

If you think a phone call, SMS, voicemail, email or social media interaction claiming to be from the ATO isn't genuine, don't engage with it. You should either:

* go to https://www.ato.gov.au/online-services/scams-cyber-safety-and-identity-protection/verify-or-report-a-scam to see how to spot and report a scam, or
* if you have divulged information or paid a scammer money, phone the ATO immediately on 1800 008 540.

🚨World Day Against Trafficking in Persons🚨

Every year, millions of men, women, and children fall victim to human trafficking — a crime that strips people of their freedom and dignity.

Today, we stand together to raise awareness, support survivors, and demand stronger action to end this global injustice.

Human trafficking happens everywhere - in cities, rural areas, online, and in plain sight. Especially, they target the vulnerable and thrive in silence.
