Support Play It Forward Uniform Drive: Make A Lasting Impact
Collecting preloved and obsolete sports uniforms for donation to grassroots sports in under-resourced communities.

Good morning,

Service to others runs deep in my family veins. This is another example. This makes me proud, inspired and humbled all in one.

Many of you know Kylie, my niece, Dianne's daughter. Her daughter Charlotte is doing amazing work changing the lives of hundreds of children and their communities, by simply collecting sports uniforms and sending them overseas.

She needs help in raising funds for packaging and postage to ensure this work can continue.

Please read the request below and donate if you can.

Thank you, Graeme.

My name is Charlotte Arndt. I am a student at Beaconhills College.

I am writing to you today with an important request to support the community service initiative "Play It Forward Vic". Collecting preloved and obsolete sports uniforms for donation to grassroots sports in under-resourced communities.

To date we have provided sports uniforms to:
• Nayawa Village, Fiji - 3 netball team uniforms, 1 Rugby team, netballs and training equipment
• Naroro Village, Fiji - 3 netball team uniforms, netballs and training equipment
• Chanel College,Moamoa, Samoa - netball and rugby teams and training equipment
• St Joseph’s Secondary School, Baguia, Timor Leste - various sports uniforms (via Rotary Passport Melbourne)
• Oxfam in the Pacific, Fiji - Netball and Basketball uniforms and equipment
• Rotaract Club of Apia, Samoa - Netball and Basketball Uniform

The benefits of this project include supporting grassroots sports, increased participation levels, comradely, empowering girls in sport, supporting health and wellbeing, increased community connection and lifting spirits of the entire community.

We are asking generous people like yourself to support the Play It Forward Vic program and donate today.

A Financial Donation: We are hoping to raise $6,000 to assist with uniform collection, packaging, transport, international taxes and delivery. This will ensure we can continue to meet the needs of multiple communities in 2026 and beyond.

All funds raised will go directly to this project. Any support you can provide is appreciated.

Donation options
• Payment of shipping cost. Each shipment costs approximately $320 (postage and packaging materials). We can provide your organization with the Australia Post Tax Invoice for reimbursement.
• GoFundMe https://gofund.me/a75e180ef 7

All corporate donations will be acknowledged publicly via our socials with your consent

Background on Play It Forward Vic
Play It Forward Vic initially started as a Year 8 school project to complete 20 hours of community service. Whilst on a family holiday in Fiji, one of locals mentioned she was raising funds for netball uniforms for her village netball teams. I enquired if she would be open to receiving our club netball uniforms. The answer was "Yes" and there began my project to acquire netball uniforms for a small village in Fiji. The project gathered momentum and I secured not only enough uniforms for one village but enough uniforms for a neighboring village as well.

After seeing the difference one person can make, I made the commitment that my Year 9 "Personal Best" project would be running another sports uniform drive. The beneficiary of this project was the school community, Chanel College in Moamoa, Samoa. We have collected and donated netball uniforms for 4 teams and rugby 7's uniforms for 6 teams.

My school projects have grown exponentially and have turned into a community service initiative I have branded “Play It Forward Vic”.

We have received support from City of Casey Stadiums and Casey Netball Association, Melbourne Football Club, Melbourne City FC and local football and netball clubs with regard to uniform donations and Rotary Melbourne with some funding.

Uniform Donation Requests
Play It Forward Vic is approaching the request, collection and collation of uniforms in two ways.
1) Contact clothing companies, sports associations and sporting clubs requesting bulk donations.
2) Contact schools and individual to do “Donate Sports Uniform Drives”

Future for Play It Forward Vic
Whist continuing to source and supply direct to villages and communities, I have connected with a number of local and overseas charity organizations and Play It Forward Vic is expanding to supply items to:

• Rotary Passport Melbourne (for distribution in PNG, Timor Leste and Cambodia)
• Rotaract Club of Apia (distribution throughout Samoa)
• Oxfam in the Pacific, Fiji

Socials

Please visit, follow and share our Facebook and Instagram page to promote and support this initiative.

The supply of these uniforms is lifting spirits and community engagement. It is but a small gesture to help uplift an entire village.

Thank you in advance for partnering with us to keep this program viable. We couldn't do this without your support!

Should you wish to discuss any details further please feel free to contact my mother Kylie on 0437 304 171.

Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Charlotte Arndt

What is Payday Super?
The Australian Government is introducing major reforms to the Superannuation Guarantee (SG) system to tackle unpaid super and improve retirement outcomes for workers. It’s a policy that requires employers to pay their employees’ SG contributions at the same time as their normal payroll cycle - on payday.

Current rule
Employers must make superannuation contributions at least quarterly, by the 28th day after the end of each quarter.

Under Payday Super
Employers will be required to pay super contributions at the same time they pay salaries and wages. For most, this will mean payments are made weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, depending on payroll frequency. The new rules will take effect from 1 July 2026.
Employers must ensure that SG contributions are received by the employee’s super fund within 7 business days of each payday.

ATO warns taxpayers: Don’t lodge yet!

Last year 142,000 people who lodged in the first 2 weeks of July had to lodge amendments, or had their returns investigated and amended by the ATO to fix inaccuracies in their tax return, for example, income that had not been declared properly.

‘We know doing your tax return is something to tick off your to-do list each year, but there’s no need to rush. The best time to lodge is from late July once everything is ready.’

‘We pre-fill information from your employer, banks, government
agencies and health funds into your tax return to help you get it right the first time – regardless of whether you use a registered tax agent or lodge yourself,’ ATO Assistant Commissioner Rob Thomson said.

Graeme and Matt have been on a Zoom call with the ATO Early Intervention Office for the past hour.

The ATO requested a meeting to conduct a soft audit on a selection of clients.

Key out comes:
• Confirmation of cash declared.
• Personal usage of motor vehicles.
• Home office apportionment.
• Income betterment test - verification that cost of living expenditure is in proportion to income declared.

From the ATO….

Last year some of the outrageous claims we saw included:

👨‍🔧 a mechanic who tried to claim an air fryer, microwave, 2 vacuum cleaners, a TV, gaming console and gaming accessories as work-related

🚚 a truck driver who tried to claim swimwear because it was hot where they stopped in transit, and they wanted to go for a swim

👠 a manager in the fashion industry who tried to claim over $10,000 in luxury-branded clothing and accessories to be well presented at work, and to attend events, dinners and functions.

In each instance, the claims were denied.

Tax Tip - Private Health Insurance
Aussies are being urged to get their health insurance in order now if they want to avoid being hit with a big tax bill from the Australia Taxation Office (ATO). The Medicare Levy Surcharge is applied to Aussies who earn over a certain amount and don’t have private health insurance.

Nearly half a million Aussies paid the Medicare Levy Surcharge through their tax returns in previous years. The surcharge is between 1 and 1.5 per cent of your income and applies to singles earning over $97,000 and families earning over $194,000 who don’t have an appropriate level of hospital cover.

Thousands of Aussies could be hit with a tax penalty if they don't take out the appropriate level of health insurance.
