Pre tax 2023 planning for businesses begins now so start having your files/cloud software up to date so we can give the right tax advice for your situation.

Start putting those final super payments into your super fund you were planning on and we had already discussed. They must be in my 20th June, so you don’t miss out on the tax benefits.

The 2023/2024 budget has been announced and the most relevant change is the widely announced drop of the $1500 low to middle tax offset in the 2023 tax year onwards. So refunds won’t be as generous as previously.

The small business instant asset write off will reduce from $150,000 to $20,000 so back to normal depreciation rules from 1st July 2023. So the asset needs to be purchased by 30 June 2023 “and in use” to be claimed in 2023 year.

Be aware of the latest working from home substantiation for 2023 tax year keeping comprehensive records of hours and costs incurred, no receipts no claims, so be diligent.

ATO will also be given more funding for business reviews so expect increased tax audits. So take the time to ensure your accounts are in order.
So start getting your ducks in row for pre tax planning if you are a business and get your 2022 tax ready to lodge for May 15 deadline for Accountant lodgements.

We are taking 2022 appointments from the end of July onwards when the ATO prefilling will include your employment income statements and interest but dividends and managed funds may take longer to report. MyGov accounts include income statements now however they will need to be finalised before we can proceed.

We ask you maintain safe distance at this time with the increase of infections of Covid and influenza and please do not attend our offices if you are not well, alternatively we can continue to take remote phone appointments 🙏 😷

Final day of this 2022 financial year, make all your final payments today for all your allowable deductions. Single touch payroll finalisation in the process.
Then it starts all over again.

Final super payments need to be paid today close of business. Including the $1000 to be eligible for co contribution. Or personal contributions to reduce your tax.
Pay your donations to your favourite charity.
Service NSW vouchers expire in days.
Donate your unused vouchers or buy a voucher to use at a later date.
Prepay expenses and subscriptions that are allowable deductions.
