Highly interesting to see this as counter to the inflation narrative in the West.

Will these deflationary pressures travel globally and result in rate pauses or even cuts.

Would this be bullish bonds with duration and growth equities?

What are your thoughts on this?

PMI decline in China, Euro and now Canada. USA is slowing also but not quite as bad.

Is this a mean reversion back to a trend line set in 2016-2019 or an actual decline?

Did the markets price in this PMI decline last October with a market bottom by looking forward 9 months or will we retest lows?

Any slow down should be good for inflation data which could lead to rate cuts eventually and thus favor bonds with duration.

Only time will tell, but I believe cash flowing pay cheque portfolios will ride out any volatility by paying you every month an income to use or compound during sale periods.

Nice inflation print this morning from Canada but even our food prices seem sticky.

Seems both the Brits and Canadians need to consider starting a garden.

During WW2 millions of Brits started Victory Gardens to help feed the nation. Perhaps it is time for this idea to return to get inflation down and hopefully interest rates!

Why is China cutting rates when the rest of the world seems to be on a hiking cycle?

Is China looking forward and the West is using rearview mirror data?

Or perhaps this is this specific to China and their real estate market, systemic debt load, demographic issue and strained global relations?

Time will tell but worth watching PMI data for manufacturing and services incoming this summer.

Rate hike today with likely another incoming next month to match the US Federal Reserve for rates.

This was a little unexpected but hot GDP and slight inflation pop was enough to take BOC off pause.

With Prime at nearly 7% how will this effect every day Canadians and their debt loads? Time will tell.

Bonds had a strong move down today showing adding duration is for the brave right now with the short end being the hiding spot of choice.

How many more hikes are you predicting? Love to hear your thoughts.
