You can choose someone who brings a new perspective and attitude to solving our city’s challenges, instead of someone who only knows how to pass the blame. You can choose someone who truly believes in fiscal responsibility; someone who will work every day to keep taxes and expenses as low as possible, while still delivering the quality services and amenities you expect from your city. Finally, you

can choose to elect an individual who always puts service first. This means that when you need to express a viewpoint or concern, your councillor’s first reaction is to respond, and then do everything possible to address your issue. This is the kind of representation you can expect if you make the right choice on election day. In the coming months, I will be working to meet you and learn what it is that makes you passionate about living in our beautiful city. With your support, and together with the support of all the residents of Wards 1 and 5, we can choose a new path. Please stand with me, and let’s stand for a better Brampton. Make a stand for our city, and lets move forward!

Starting tonight, Gage Park welcomes the Lusofonia Festival kicking off at 5:00pm. From May 29 to 31, residents and visitors are invited to a weekend of live entertainment, cultural performances, traditional food and handmade goods as the city kicks off Portuguese Heritage Month.

Don’t forget to join the Portuguese Heritage Month flag raising on Saturday at 11:00am.

June is Portuguese Heritage Month in Brampton. A time to recognize and celebrate the rich culture, traditions and contributions of the Portuguese community that continue to shape our city.

Join us this Saturday for the Portuguese Heritage Month flag raising with festivities happening throughout the weekend with the Lusofonia Festival, bringing together music, dance, food and entertainment that showcase the vibrant spirit of the Portuguese culture.

This week, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Solmar Development Corporation and Skyline Group of Companies’ new purpose built rental at 241 Queen St. East, an important step toward increasing housing options in Brampton.

This project will help deliver additional rental housing, create new homes close to transit and amenities, and support a more complete and connected community. As Brampton continues to grow, investments like this are critical to helping residents and families find stable, attainable housing options right here in our city.

Last week, we recognized the hard working staff from the City’s Public Works and Engineering department for National Public Works Week. This year’s theme, Rooted in Service, Powered by Community, celebrates the dedication of public works professionals who help keep Brampton safe, connected, and on the move.

Behind the scenes, Brampton’s Public Works and Engineering teams keep our city moving through road maintenance, infrastructure support, clean services, and sustainable operations. It was an honour to be part of the Closing Ceremony acknowledging staff for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to strengthening our community.

It was a pleasure to welcome the Grade 4 & 5 students from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Elementary School to Brampton City Hall for a special school tour. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they learned more about local government, civic leadership, and the important role City Hall plays in serving our community.
