32 years ago this week this youngster got hired by Investors Group to be a Financial Advisor. Armed only with a Bachelor's degree in business, his good looks and a background as a shoes salesman Glenn was ready to get out and help families achieve financial goals for themselves and generations to come. Glenn knew that his charm would only get him so far so he immediately signed up for his financial planner designation so that he had the knowledge necessary to help direct and advise his clients in all money matters.

Glenn was known not only as the kid in the office but as the one who was not afraid to pick up the phone to 'cold call' and tell strangers that all meeting with him was going to cost them was 'a cup of coffee and an hour of their time.' When asked about the future of the markets this 23 year old would state 'I don't have a crystal ball' but I can help you plan for whatever would come our way. He started working with family, friends of his parents, neighbours and anyone willing to sit with him.

Fast forward to today and Glenn is now considered the GREY HAIR of the office and the old guy that comes into the appointments to help give insight with his 32 years of experience. He has built an incredible team of professionals with Julia and Jake as fellow advisors and an amazing admin staff of Tracy and Milka. He and his team have helped and continue to support and advise their clients on major purchases, planning for retirement, business succession, tax savings and so much more.

There are not many people out there who can say they still love their job after 32 years but what stands out with Glenn is that it is not just a job but his career and his calling to help people. What Glenn loves most about his job is that he gets to help improve people's lives by watching them plan and go on a family vacation, seeing them retire and live comfortably, holding their hand through the loss of a loved one, purchasing the home of their dreams, or building the wealth necessary to pass on to the next generation.

Today’s Hot Topic…..Bank of Canada decreases its overnight lending rate once again by 0.25%

This is ninth time since the height of the peak in July of 2022, the Bank of Canada has lowered its key interest rate by a quarter percent.

In September we saw inflation rates increase to 2.4% from 1.9%. Right now it is being reported this new rate is at the right level to keep inflation at the targeted 2% which the economy is anticipated to reach in early 2026 and should stay through 2027.

The Central Bank presented the idea that these changes are a reflection of a softening of the economy and reflect a weakness based on trade conflict and policy coming out of the US.
