We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 7 territory, home to the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuu T’ina Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda Nations, and Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.

This day is an opportunity to honour Survivors and their families, remember the children who never returned home, and educate ourselves about the ongoing impacts of residential schools, including intergenerational trauma and systemic issues affecting Indigenous communities, such as MMIWG and MMIP.

Reconciliation begins with truth, understanding, and a commitment to learning, reflecting, and taking action.
