Strategies for saving are often overlooked with tunnel vision. Focusing on one savings account can decrease your retirement strategy.
When considering options on where to invest consider using all the accounts to your advantage. Saving for a home, or even a new transition in a future home let me suggest:1) deposit in an RRSP and get a tax credit refund. 2) deposit into your FHSA and get another tax credit refund in the same year. 3) use the refund to deposit that money into your TFSA.
The result is more tax returns dollars and government funds to save into your own TFSA.
All 3 accounts now build your wealth for meeting your short term goals and long term goals.
